I believe that doctors are intelligent people, sometimes with encyclopedic knowledge. This does not strictly rival an encyclopedia.

Faced with the same, exact options, I might have a difference of opinion.

Other people would no more like to make medical decisions for themselves than they would like to make condiments from scratch or weave their own carpet.

So, while I would like to make the final decision, and, while I would like to decide whether the diagnosis is final, they are still performing a useful service.

I am only giving my personal opinion and am not formally qualified to speak about mental issues. If I had to rename the Autism Spectrum, I would call it a spectrum of dissociation.

that just made me have a thought- I wonder if some of us of the aspie brotherhood and sisterhood, have some dissocial personality disorder in us?

There were some threads about feeling like having adapted another persona.
Adapting to the world not being who you genuinely are, but creating a persona outside to cope with humans and human "normal" requirements.
I also think that schizoid personality disorder can co-exist with autism.
(and other personality disorders).
I read more than once that autistic people cannot develop personality disorders, which made me mad,
as it is not logical,
it's like saying autistic people have no personality,
and no personality that can get hurt.
Don't know who came up with those style of thinking.

Maybe, I misunderstood the question.

Do you mean to ask whether autisitc people have mulitple personalities?
