Do you remember random things people said to you years ago?

Oh yes - I spend a great deal of times recalling events; good, bad and indifferent from my childhood and teenage years which of course would have been in my case 41-55+ years ago. I remember a great deal of precise detail. I just can't remember simple things like where I set the scissors down five minutes ago.

Pretty much what 886 said. I remember with perfect clarity entire conversations from a week or more ago, and have no clue what someone just said. Sometimes my long term memory(especially for spoken word) is annoyingly accurate. Most people do not remember the things they have said, and I have to constantly remind myself that they can't remember saying whatever it is that I took literally and personally. :wall:

My uncle when I was in elementary would say to me " I eat my peas with honey and I've done it all my life, you might thinks it funny but it keeps them on my knife " I have always thought my uncle lacked in intelligence because he ate his food with a knife. There are many more things I remember.
