In this episode of the twilight zone a high functioning autistic has a mental break-down and becomes more neurotypical. Other autistics frown upon her self-diagnosis.
It could be some kind of trap ....

Be careful about ganging up on the unattractively pictured co-worker. It could be you next time.

(That did give me a chuckle.)

No. Only appropriately-trained and licensed mental-health professionals can make a valid diagnosis of an NT. Online tests can not provide an objective NT diagnosis, either.

There may be other existing conditions that could mask NT or alter subjective perceptions and cause the person to render an incorrect self-diagnosis.

I don't know. Let's spend 40 pages arguing about it first.

I can't say I am NT as such, just because I can recognize body language and all that stuff by instinct (even from a young age). But I don't feel very much like an Aspie either. I don't know how I got diagnosed with that as a kid because I definitely did not lack imagination and I remember getting along with other children in imaginative play too. Plus I could express how I was feeling and was very verbal with I was distressed. I didn't seem to exhibit many typical Autistic kid behaviour at all. I even played with toys how a typical little girl would. I was socially awkward but that was because of hyperactivity and not paying attention. I knew when I was annoying somebody by their body language but I still couldn't help being annoying. I also had some learning difficulties and wasn't cleverer than the other children. I also made normal eye contact from birth.

So I do feel I want to get tested for adult ADHD, because that's what I feel I am and I would feel so much more comfortable opening up to everybody about ADHD than I ever have about AS.
