Well, I wouldn't blurt it out upon meeting someone. But eventually it has a way of coming up. If you can supplement disability payments with part-time work that is ideal.

How does it come up?

One way or another ... "what do you do?" "where do you work?" "why do have so much free time?" "why do you have no money?" or whatever.

I can answer all those questions by telling them I'm looking for work or focusing on school.

They have adult graduation, but I'm afraid it will be too much work to be worth anything.

That's good that you're studying! I agree that you should pursue higher education - whether academic or trade. Get a skill.

I'm not really studying at the moment. I will study a bit of music production to see if I enjoy it. That could be a career for me.

I've never been on disability, but I got in a relationship with my boyfriend when he was on disability and had a very part-time job. No biggie. As long as I don't end up going on disability, I don't care if my friends or significant others are or aren't on it, as long as they have a decent place to live, are not starving, and are happy enough with their lives otherwise.

Quite a few people asked me what I do for work when I started going to events with meetup. I found it very shameful to admit I do not work and am on disability, but I cannot lie. I just do not like lying and find it hard to do. I hope to get help to get into part time work or back into study next year as I hate feeling useless, which is what I feel doing nothing and being stuck in a situation where shifting into some sort of work might cause me to be forced to work fulltime... I am not up to that I don't think.
