Mine:

Science fiction (particularly the Dune novels),

Astronomy (I like stargazing with my telescope but have had hell from brain-dead neighbours in the past who have accused me of peeping through bedroom windows!),

Fossil collecting (good thing I live close to the Jurassic coast!),

Heavy Rock/Metal (Queen, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Manowar, etc),

Weather (the obsession of any true englishman!).

Unmanned space missions (Sputnik, Luna, Venera, Mariner, Viking, Pioneer, Voyager and Galileo) - My favourate is Voyager 2

Lego - Lots and lots of lego (I once made a 20*25 cm model of Voyager 2)

Well, it seems were mentioning past and present, so I'll add some of my old obsessions.

Magnetism
Family Geneology
Video Games
Puzzles
Monopoly (still obsessed)
Card Games (still obsessed)

OK, that's all of the other ones I can think of right now. BTW. BlackLiger, not to be rude, but I prefer to teach myself new things. I'm referring to your HTML teaching offer. Thank's for offering, though.

OK, here are my current obsessions:

1. Taaibos and Highveld Power Stations - Taaibos is where my Dad used to work. Completely obsessed with the accumulation of historical data thereof.

2. Automatic gearboxes and turbochargers.

3. Front-loader washing machines - I love watching them running, and particularly when they start to spin. (MOM PLEASE DUMP THAT TOP-LOADER SPEED QUEEN!! !!)

4. Synthesized music produced by the Commodore 64 computer.

5. Another obsession that I mentioned in the Adult Asperger forum and can't mention here.

6. Tachometers (rev counters).

More people need to hear about the supervolcano, I say. When I start rattling on about it they think that I'm making it up/exaggerating though.
(I live in north texas too, by the way.)
