There is a way to make the avatars stop moving - somebody here posted how to do it and it works, I just can't remember how to do it. Sorry.

Haha, I remember when you messaged me to request I change my old M.Bison GIF avatar.
Flickery lights and all of that don't bother me usually, because I'm usually focusing too intensely on something else (like when I play DDR). I can see how it can bother people though.

I hate those flickering things which is why I have an ad-blocker, but it doesn't get rid of all of them.

Some avi's are the same. There's one avi that kept freaking me out, becausing while it appeared still, while I would be reading a post, I'd catch movement, but everytime I looked at it, it was motionless.

So I stared at the avatar for thirty seconds or so, and the damned cartoon thing blinked it's eyes!! ! I was relieved. I thought I was seeing things or that I had a brain tumor.

How come the smilies are disabled?

I despise them. I don't think that there's a way to cancel them out without shutting all avatars down, and I kind of use avatars to remember who's who. Especially with similar names. Of course, when you change your avatar, I shall treat you as someone new.

... and I'll thank you again for being a true human being and making the change!

Had I had the "Adblock Plus" extension at that time, I guess I would have just blocked your avatar, then not particularly recognised you, as "calandale" has just said.

Now that I have got it loaded, so far as I'm concerned, this thread isn't so crucial. :)

I really like Paul's avatar. I remember playing with those as a child. I wish I could get one now - it's a great touch, sound and visual stim.

I'll go check Ebay...I just don't know what they're called...

I scroll down, if any of the colors are bright or flashing. If all the frames or most of any of the frames, are in dark colors, it does not hurt my head.
I just discovered the "block images from..." feature, which will get used.

I ad-block such images. I am an epileptic and if I look at such things for any length of time I will have a seizure. So please don't post them...

That's not what is meant by "blinking", OddCoyote...I'm talking more like rapid flashing/blinking images.

Yes, but it's not a fast, flashing or annoying animation.

It's Newton's cradle - where there's an nice animated GIF. No sound though! That lovely c-cl-cl-c-click.
