Carry a small pocket knife with you or learn how to break necks also learn which are weak spots in a human body and all those stuff, I think it will help make you feel safe

Every once in a while you hear of someone being beheaded in a car accident. I remember one case where the car hit a sign which came down through the window and decapitated the driver.

Another self defense trick is to act as crazy as you can if anybody you feel threatened by approaches you. Just scream and wave your arms and blurt out weird phrases, whatever kind of crazy you can think of. Perpetrators will usually back off if they think a potential victim is going to be too much trouble, or crazier than they are.

Also, if anybody ever grabs you, just go dead weight. Hang to the ground. I had a friend who once had someone try and grab her and put her into the back of a car. She did this, and they eventually dropped her and drove off. She wasn't big either, a petite girl- but it's hard to move anybody who is dead weight, and, again, too much trouble.

Well I always manage to accidentally hit my partner in the balls with my knee, so maybe I could use that as a weapon to protect myself if somebody does come up to me in the street and wants to murder, mug or rape me. Apparently it really hurts to be hit in the balls, so that would give me a chance to run away.

But seriously, my anxieties are weird. I worry about being stabbed, but when people start on at me about how secure my money in my bag is, I'm like "oh do mind your own business - won't happen to me!" I am very good with keeping my money safe, and if somebody tried to grab my bag I can run off or react before they can actually get into it. I always take a bag that goes across me, so that it is tucked under my arm, and it is hard to miss somebody creeping up and taking stuff out of my bag.

The only problem with that is my money is so safe in my bag that it's even a pain for me to get to it each time I want to pay for something.

Those do sound like very troubling thoughts, Joe90...and it is good to be very cautious when you're out walking alone, especially at night. But, as the others have said, I think people being beheaded is a somewhat rare occurrence.

However, it might help you feel better if you carried something with you that you could use in self-defense, if you did run into trouble. A small discreet knife could work, as others have suggested, or you could try carrying mace or pepper spray in a plastic cannister that attaches to your keys with a key clip. I don't think you can take it with you on airplanes, though - just to let you know, if you do decide to go that route.

I have a whistle attached to my keys...it's supposed to alert people that one is in trouble and needs help, but I think it can also serve the purpose of catching a potential assailant completely off guard and make him/her leave a person alone.

Another means of self-defense that I've heard about is these keychains:

...they look like ordinary cat keychains, but can be used as handheld weapons if necessary.

Carrying something with you might help relieve your anxiety some. Hope this helps.
