I don't like being touched by people, but I love being affectionate to my animals.

I also wondered about this. I can't stand to be touched, and it seems to be increasing the more I DON'T touch, in the same way as talking gets harder the less I talk. I wondered if touching a pet and letting it touch me would help to lessen how uncomfortable I find people touching me, and kind of keep my ability to tolerate touch up, whilst not having to expose myself to being touched by others. Interesting to know you do see a difference between the two - thanks.

Sometimes I feel like my animals exacerbatemy problems socializing with humans. I know I should want to talk more. At the same time, my level of happiness would be much lower without my animals. There is something about their simplicity and uncomditional love. Through them I realize I can be loving and affectionate.

It's also nice to put your love into something that you know is guaranteed to love you back. It's safe to love animals; there is no risk of rejection.
