What is the real meaning of this behaviour?
I think it is time to play the AS card when you are confronted with a remark like this. It would be also good if you could help people with whom you interact more with getting more aware of your specific cognitive weaknesses. Playing the dumb might be a good strategy in some situations and with some people, but not on a regular basis.
Many people (not me) suspect my aspie friend of having some personality disorder because they dont get the discrepancy between her relatively elaborated way of expressing herself, and her egocentric, often defensive and all in all for most people confusing ways of relating to others or to the subject.
I often see reflex-like aggressive-defensive actions in her behavior as a reaction to my or other people s insisting on "hey I am still there, too". So be glad if people accuse you only to do it "just for your amusement".
