I love Bladerunner... used to watch it nightly for a time when a teen, loved the music...everything about it. Just got the book it was based on from a charity shop today...time I read the original, methinks.

if i am obssessed with a song, then yes, i may repeat it a million times.

But if the song is something i dont like, then i would never listen to it again.

To repeat a good thing is a good thing.

Yeah Buckaroo Banzai!

Yeah Flaming Lips!

I used to do this a lot when I was younger, but not so much anymore. However, I do watch my DVD of "Four Minutes" quite a bit. Roger Bannister's birthday is this Friday, so I plan to watch it that night.

I'm actually pretty bad about that...I'll repeat a part of a song over and over. Then I'll repeat the whole song. Then I'll repeat the part of the song I like four or five times, and so on and so forth...

Hello,

Sorry about losing your music.

I have been gone a while, can you still use Kazaa. I used Kazaa lite (no spyware) and had several thousand songs saved before I came over here. i love looking for a song that have not heard in awhile on there.

Anyway, is it stealing if you bought the song first on Album, then cassete, them CD only to have your copy stolen (I did not mention 8-track, I am not THAT old  )

Check them out and get some new music, there has to be some filesharing sites still in operation

I watched movies with my sister over and over (I must say I have all the dialogues of Toy Story in my head :D ). Now, my twin siblings do the same, but my sister is bored when she watches something a lot of times. I think this is very common in kids and some people with ASD

I don't get bored or tired for watching/listening to the same movie/song more than two times, if it likes me, I do it everytime.

Yeah, I tend to repeat a lot of the same stuff over and over, dip into the same album folders a lot. Not to the same extent with films or DVDs but I do it. Thanks for posting this thread, I thought it was just me...I guess it's like a comfort thing, familiarity.

I've been doing this a lot recently. I think it's a response to stress--if I find something that makes me feel comfortable or safe, since I don't feel that way normally, I tend to watch or listen to it. A lot.

I think I'm regressing or something. :p

Hello,

I Love that music by Vangelis, bought the soundtrack a decade ago and listened over and over.

You are going to really like the novel by Phillip K. Dick.

It seems like all of his short story and novels are getting made into movies i.e.: Imposter, Paycheck, Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall, and the new movie I haven't seen yet "A Scanner Darkly".

There are probably a few more that i cannot remember.

I often repeat movies and music that I like. It just seems normal to me.

We didn't have vcr's or the like when I was a kid. When we were introduced to the Movie Channel, they played the same movies over and over - my family still comments on how I watched Superman 52 times (it's more like 72, now, since I found it on video....I still remember all the words!)
And music is the same, but I tend to remember a song after hearing it twice, once if I immediately like it. And then it's forever in the file cabinet which is my brain.

Yes, I enjoy reading books multiple times, sometimes as many as 30-40 times. I don't find I enjoy it any less, infact I enjoy it more since I can focus less on the plot then the development of the story.

Same here, I can remember the lyrics after two of three repetitions and they stay with me, even if I hear a song I haven't heard in five years, I can just start singing along like it was yesterday.

I've always done this.

I didn't realise there was anything wrong with it until I did it when I was living with other people at university. It was made clear in no uncertain terms that playing a song over and over was not OK.

I think it goes along with the intense interests thing, I just have to keep listening to the song, and no other song will do, until everything is locked into my head, and then I don't need to listen to it anymore, because i can play it in my head.

and I learnt the joys of having a good set of headphones!
