I don't like anything on my feet and cannot stand to have socks pulled up (the feeling of pressure on my calves/feet overloads me).
I have sensitive feet, too. I prefer not to wear shoes, but since I work, I have to (I even have to wear steel-toe boots at work, and that's a pain trying to find comfortable ones of those). I can't wear shoes without socks (unless they are sandals, but I have a hard time finding good sandals) but I can't have my socks rolled down. This really bothered me when that style became popular, since I didn't want to look like an idiot with shorts and calf-high socks, but couldn't stand to have them rolled up either. Fortunately, they came out with those footie type socks for men, so I could wear them, and they caught on, so people wouldn't think I was gay or something.
The shoes I have now, which are the most comfortable I have ever found, are Reebok black hi-tops (TYL2- 1539). I got these when I went to England last (in '99) and wore them nearly out, then they sat in my closet a year, then I had to wear them because my other shoes got wet, and found out the Reeboks were much more comfortable ('fits like a glove' comes to mind), so I searched and found them and bought a new pair of exactly the same model shoe. The new ones feel great too. (the reason this is remarkable is that the shoe was discontinued for 3-4 years and only came back on a limited basis; they aren't everywhere.)
I'll buy some socks that look just like the pack of socks I bought last time, but they'll have slipped in 5% rayon or something, and I'll get home from work and take them off, and my ankles and feet will be red from them, and itch all evening and night.
