Nope, I'm not even allowed to drink it.

I drink but I don't over do it. Occasionally a mild buzz. Mosly beer and wine. Preferably import beer. I like it too much to ever give it up.

Hello,

I have not been drunk knowing I have AS but I will as soon as I go on R n R :D !

Some symptoms reduced some are amplified LIKE MY VOICE. I definetly become more social.

Unfortunetly I have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol. I am not bragging, I just can imbibe large quatities. Love alcohol, hate the hangovers. :x I become the BIGGEST grouch first thing in the morning.

People even called me an alcoholic, but I wasn't, I just like too drink.
They never knew me, people said I was weak, said I could not handle it, said I would have dt's or some such, I have been in Iraq for 20 months now, I can handle ANYTHING life throws at me because I have had to deal with so much BS from so many @ssholes my whole life.

Back to the point: I CANNOT WAIT TO GET DRUNK. YEEEHAAAAAAH!

I drink quite a bit, sometimes because it helps me to relax when I am getting wound up about stupid things as only an Aspie can.

If I have drunk a lot then I do get very depressed and down the next day, though; normally about 3pm. So I try to only drink in moderation now - enough to feel more at ease with myself, but not enough to feel lousy the day after. Plus I'd rather drink things that taste nice rather than drinks designed purely to make me drunk, if you see what I mean?

If you're on meds for your AS, then of course alcohol isn't a good idea.

There are no meds for AS to the best of my knowledge but there are meds like Ritalin for ADHD

Drug Info here

Question: I have heard some people say it is OK to take ritalin and to have a drink or two. I have also heard some people state that it is not safe to mix these two. What is a safe time between the last ritalin dosage and having a drink? I did not know if 3 or 4 hours would do, or if it needed to be something more along the lines of 8 or 9 hours.

Answer: There shouldn't be a big deal for a drink or two. However, individuals vary. Start with only one drink several hours post dosage and see what your reactions are. I wouldn't go past two.

Personally I only drink for the taste and I stop at two because too much drink only dulls my taste nerve endings and that defeats to purpose of drinking it.

I take anti-depressants I think, and I can't drink alcohol.

I drink, but it's seldom because I don't go to parties. I like drinking sometimes, but I'm not an alcoholic.

Alcohol always seems stronger if not used to drinking it so it can make things worse,if have taking it for while the bad side effects of it will get less, depends on how much is drunk.
Am like Bacardi Breezer [tropical orange, mixed with rum] only, only ever have one bottle of that because take a lot of tegretol, plus am not drinking it for the alcohol,it is a very nice taste-no taste of alcohol in it.

I don't really drink alcohol much (just a few times a year) because I don't like the taste of it. I'm not sure if its effects have an impact on my AS. The Irish drink culture puts me off it too.
