Oh my God!

I'm praying for you and hope that God will bring His peace to you. And that a way might be found to meet this sad development. You are still that happy soul!

My uncle had stage 2 esophageal cancer and is in remission. Its been 1.5 years. He's doing fine, but he'll never sleep laying down again.

I wish for you peace and healing.

I know doctors seem to like to give worse case scenarios that plenty of times are proven wrong.

How are you doing today? Still reeling? If so that is par for the course.. if it would help to vent to someone, please feel welcome to PM me, I think it often helps in these early days. There are so many feelings and thoughts swirling around and the shock is still very intense.. please stay in touch on the forum, so many of us are thinking of you, caring about you and hoping/praying/sending out positive energy to support your best outcome.

I wouldn't just accept the main-stream diagnoses without questioning its wisdom.

Six months ago I was diagnosed with level 1 ASD and I was so happy about it. Finally I have an answer to a life long puzzle.

But I can't see anything positive about this latter diagnoses. When I asked the Gastroenterologist if I probably have about one to three more years to live - He said, "Yes, that is probably about right."

When I was young I used to constantly contemplate suicide. Then I discovered that life was more bearable than I initially thought and that some of my unsolvable problems did have solutions.

Now it is all completely out of my hands. Is there a right way for a person with ASD to face the likelihood of death?

Sorry for being such a downer. I just can't come up with a way to put a positive spin on this one.

A lot of times what you "allow" yourself to "believe" frequently becomes a "self-fulfilling prophecy" but if you can understand that there's always an answer somewhere in the universe to any problems that may surface then you can bother to take the effort to seek out those answers. Don't just give up on having a positive future for your life so easily.

If you REALLY allow yourself to "believe" that "cancer cannot be cured" then what effort are you going to put forth to bother "questioning" as to whether that "belief" is REALLY true or not ? I had a case of my own life-span shortening (and my body could feel said symptoms), but through some incredible stroke of luck, I came across a doctor who accurately came up with the diagnoses and recommended supplements that I needed to treat my conditions, through a rather accurate-process known as kinesiology (and I am highly greatful).

Also... I absolutely do not trust anything that comes out of the main-stream. Already uncovered far too much evidence of ridiculous amounts of false-propaganda (called: public-relations) to be willing to believe any of its bullocks. Indoctrination is actually bad for your long-term emotional-health. Just start questioning everything and know that your thoughts affect your emotions:

"The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."
"The pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity."

Let me just tell you that opportunites are EVERYWHERE (just be careful not to get scammed which is why I STRESS that you QUESTION EVERYTHING !).

Kinesiology is mainstream. Applied kinesiology (practitioners are often known as chiropractors) is indistinguishable from guesswork, and such people should be avoided.

The diagnosis was very accurate for me (hypothyroidism). Also, this chiropractor wasn't the typical type of chiropractor, for his bone-adjustments did NOT involve any joint-cracking or bone-cracking, but was through through a more precision-tapping method. Alas, he's just recently retired, due to reaching near 90 years of age (and yes he worked his clinic all the way into his 80s whilst also having over 30 years of medical-schooling from both main-stream and reputable alternate educational-sources).

The supplements & recommended amounts & results also speak for themselves:

Prolamine Iodine (2, 1, 1 per day, morning/noon/evening)
Catalyn (1, 1, 1)
Thytrophin (1, 1, 1)

I finally had restored energy levels and appetite, and because these are nutrient-supplements, they are not drugs, and thus have no negative side-effects that I've experienced, plus I don't really need that much any more, maybe just a tablet or two of kelp/iodine now when I wake up & eating properly, and I'm generally good to go (although the full doses for me as listed above still tends to be very helpful for me during times when my energy-levels are being affected/depleted by cold-weather).

There was absolutely NO "guessing" involved when I visited him. The measurements were done with precision-accuracy (and also determining which nutrients/supplements I needed & the amounts were measured with absolute accuracy). None of the other doctors I had ever seen throughout my entire life-time could figure out why I was always lethargic.

Good luck! I'm sorry that happened to you. Like everyone is saying, some doctors aren't that bright. Just the way he told you, so vaguely in response to your question makes him seem suspicious to me. A good doctor would have sat you down and been very through with you.

I am sorry this has happened to you.

There are several things for you to do. First, if you have not already done so, I recommend you research this disease and its treatments. This will give you a rough idea of what you should expect. Second, you should investigate end of life planning and care options. See, for example,

If mainstream medicine cannot help you, I know I would be tempted to at least try alternatives, what have you got too lose?

I am sorry you received this news r2d2. Like previous posts, I agree that second/many opinions, exploring every avenue and researching all that you can is worth it.

Making peace with the likelihood of death, is something a family friend had to do a few years ago.
He done all he could to improve his quality of life, made plans for his time, plans for his loved ones and lived every moment to its fullest potential until his selected date. He made time for all his favourite experiences, things that he intended to do, but never got around to doing, he 'kept his torch ablaze as brightly as he could'.
This quote is close to what I would like to communicate "You still stand watch, O human star, burning without a flicker, perfect flame, bright and resourceful spirit. Each of your rays a great idea — O torch which passes from hand to hand, from age to age, world without end."Karel Čapek
