I've always communicated more with animals, and I prefer them over people. They're easier to understand, and they calm me down when I'm having an anxiety attack. When i was younger i drove my parents insane because i had 3 dogs (rex, princess, and lady), close to 15 hamsters (I started with two and they multiplied!), 2 frogs (George and Charlie), a cat (Kitsy), 2 salamanders (i just called them 'the guys'), a horse (Nugget, he lived at my grandparents), and then to top it all of I would come home with random orphaned animals. I would take care of them, and feed them until it was time to release them into the wild. Right now, I only have Lady, Bear (my maltese puppy), and Jackie my ferret. I think my mother is enjoying the break from all of the animals.

Maybe you guessed-i like birds... yes i do communicate with them much much better than with humans. Birds are sometimes smarter than humans and eye contact and guestures work as well or better than verbal stuff. All of mine except one are rescues that were abused, misused and neglected and all but one have learned to trust and love me. Dogs, cats and furry things scare me but not cows or horses or elepahnts or other kinds of things.
And the cool thing is a bird will not say "I love you" without meaning it!

But I thought birds just mimic! Although I did see a very interesting bird on tv that could pick out colors and objects and stuff on command.

Wait, you probably didn't mean that literally...

oh, absolutely. we get along famously - i've got cats, birds, fish, and a rat. and a house spider. we understand each other pretty well, i think.

not always sure about the rat. i think he's manipulating me to get food.

I've never really had a bond with any animal so far. I'm not really a dog or cat lover, but I wanted a hamster when I was a kid.

With the screen name 9CatMom, it is natural that I prefer the company of cats to most people. However, I feel a special kinship to fellow cat lovers. That is why I love the Siamese cat site I frequent so much.

I do not communicate at all with animals. Which is why I like them. You do not have to communicate with them for them to like you, and vice versa. Needing to communicate is the problem, take that away, and everythings perfect. I used prefer my dogs company to most other people.

Animals are easy they are genuine in their emotions and won't let you down. I am self employed and frequently bring my dog with me to work. If people don't like him or he does not like them I usually will up my bid so I don't get the work. He read people better than me and I understand almost every look and sound he makes

I speak fluent Cat! I understand cat body language nearly as well as human body language. It is possible to communicate with cats, via body language. I don’t like dog because they are smelly and they are often hyper like children, cats are cleaner and quieter. I’m sure there are others that hate cats and prefer dogs, I think you have to get used to cats and then you can understand them and they can understand you.

My last Cat, Gismo, died 3 years ago and my mother won't let me keep a cat anymore.

Sometimes, animals are better than humans. I prefer reptiles.

I had an iguana, and I passed a lot of time with her. My family was jealous because I hugged her and I talked with her about anything.

Then, on augut 31st, 2006, my iguana got lost in my yard. I never saw her again, and I cried. That was the first time I cried for a living creature.

i think of my cat as my baby
hes called milo and when he was little he broke his femur after that he slept in my bed and i hand reared him
his really silly and everyon in the village knows him he collects the weirdest of things hes brought me back to name but a few; a barbie head, full packet of crisps, a chick puppet, a mini bag with a door hinge in , followed by a mini bag with nails in it, and the odd worm
when i left home he started having panic attacks he used to wait at the bus stop for me after college and walk home with me
but me moving has meant we have to give him these tablets to stop him having anxiety attacks
he also has acne and astma and hayfever like me
i hate leaving him and dream about him every night
he reallly really loves me and me only :)

i also used to have a money spider, hermit crab, one eyed frog, lady bird , an ant or several and have always had the family dogs around
but when i was little because mum and dad knew how sensitive i was i wasent allowed any small animals that dont live for long because i would have been devestated so thats why i used to have whatever i could find
