WP addiction.

The marvel of modern tech, Blueblocker III sunglasses, pass the good and block the tramatic wavelengths.

I have always had great night eyes. I am fully adapted to low light. I can barely function in bright light and noise.

Throw in crowds and it is a waste of my time.

Sense overload.

I'd like my IQ upped by about 30 points so I can be smart like the other autistics.

I'd like to have a short-term memory when stressed.

Is that TRULY an AS thing? Some recent studies imply that it happens with EVERYONE, and I have NEVER known a person to REALLY work better under stress.

I tend to get embarrassed a lot here though, as I don't even TRY to remember things under stress, because I KNOW it is a lost cause because it just never works.

I thought I had this one sussed. Then I read the existing posts. All of them are so good that I truly don't know.

Funny thing is that even with so many potential "I would change this"s, I still love being an aspie - at least since I identified myself as such.

I would get rid of the inability to get my body and mouth to do what my mind wants it to do in social situations.

Same here! When I think of ALL I kind of gave up, dialed back, and still have, the bad stuff seems trivial. I know more here have more of the bad, but even some of them have more of the good, and dialed back less of it, as well.

I've never really felt stressed. I'm not really sure but I can't think of a time when I have actually worried about something, doctors diagnosis "minimizing areas of concern"

I tend to mimic the tone of voice someone uses when they talk to me, although I'm not aware of it usually it does get me into quite a few unpleasant situations.

I'd like to be able to get organised, but I guess that's more of an ADD thing - yeah channelling my obsessions into something that earned me money, I guess that's the one change I'd make.

I'd like to be less sensitive to various stimuli - ESPECIALLY LIGHT - when I am trying to fall asleep.

I´d like to control my face´s expressions. People think I´m crazy when I start to smile for no apparent reason... Or is that an aspie thing at all?

for me i think it would be being able to filter noise so i can listen in on conversations, i cant think of anything interesting to say because i cant hear what other people are talking about, which result in too many aquard silences

oh the joys of life

I have a hard time telling what is AS or what might be something else but these are things I would like to change...

Panic attacks and fear of driving...this limits the kind of emploment I can have and keeps me from traveling to new places to hunt for agates. This seems to be a vissual process disorder, the road, signs, traffic cause major over stimulation and become confusing and that is scary.

Hearing words when there is back ground noise. Also, makes telephone conversatons more difficult.

Bright lights, yuck.I work overnights because I can control the lights and keep things dim.Apartment has the atmosphere of a cave.

Orinizational skills.......Dont know what causes this but my apartment is a mess and I cant seem to figure out how to orginize it.My best efforts and hours of work tend to result in my moving piles to new areas.I think this is exasterbated by lack of space, collecting mania and inability to throw anything away(I may need it someday or have become "attached" to it.)

Another ...dont know the cause of this....memory problems.Get names and dates mixed up(late or miss appts),forget authors or directors names, makes holding a conversation difficult when I cant remember who said what in what book or movie or the statistic I want to quote.Usually best to not even try to communicate because conversations sounds like this.......
"yeah,I read in ????(long pause to try and remember)that ????(long pause while I try and access file)certain number of (Glazed look from person I am trying to talk to)americans are ....oh,nevermind"

Good Topic. I would like to ditch the sensory issues. Noise, strong smells and brilliant sunlight just send me over the edge.

That´s propably an AS thing cause I have the same problem. You can ask me what´s the code for level select in sonic the hedgehog, but it´s useless to ask what I had for breakfast at the lunchtime of the same day :(.
