Why do you think?

Says in the criteria there is no delay in self help skills and I looked it up online and it said about tieing your shoes, dressing yourself and it says in your profiels you have AS so its confusing. I was told I had to meet that part of the criteria too or I don't have it. What i don't understand is why i was diagnosed with AS instead of PDD-NOS. I have been told by one of my onlien friends that lot of doctors don't follow the criterias so lot of aspies don't meet it so I'm trying to figure out how many of us don't meet it either but have the diagnoses. If so many of you have AS but don't quite meet the criteria, then I might mind as well go back to saying I have AS and screw the criteria and what my bf says and assume the criteria doens't need to be followed and it's just a guideline. Not meant to be taken in stone.

I was 3 or 4 when I started dressing myself.

Minor Nitpick. The guidelines I read said "no CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT delay". Language and some other things are NEEDED and absence can be considered significant. With getting dressed, etc... I don't know. The parents have to stop at some point and encourage the child to do it himself/herself. Otherwise, the kid has to just figure THAT'S IT! I'M DOING IT! Of course, if left to fend for themselves, etc... an AS person sould be able to do it regardless. (BTW caps for emphasis, except for what the kid would say!)

How to dress myself: Ehh... three years old, probably.

What to wear: Still not. Though I really don't care, beyond comfort.

Around 2 or 3 when I first made an effort.
