Just because I chat about video games, doesn't mean I'm obsessed with them. Heck, if I was obsessed with them, I'd be at home playing them instead of being here. I don't play video games all the time, as I have other things to do.

Many of your posts relate to video games...your avatars relate to games, even the title under your name and your name relate to games...you talked a lot about games with me... it doesn't matter if you are playing them all the time or not, you seem to think about them a lot and post about them a lot...wanting a red mage costume...8 bit hero...wanting FFvii, wanting Okami... do you not want to have AS? If you have been diagnosed as AS, it is more likely yes than no that you have AS.

Convincing argument. But no need to traumatize her.

Not a clue, unless he is referring to popularity with the opposite sex.

It's not a black and white sort of issue. Most people are some shade of gray or another. And an aspie may not feel like they want friends, or that they want to be able to do typically NT things, they may be happy as they are. You don't have to dislike your personal nature to be an aspie, you just have to have it limit you in some ways. For example, if you can easily make friends online, but not in person, that's a very aspie thing. That's very true of me, and it doesn't bother me. But, compared to NTs, it is unusual and considered a limitation.

The RDOS test, which I think is quite good, will show you what I'm talking about. You will be more aspie in some areas, more NT in others. I'm sure that most people never realize that I'm an aspie, they just think I'm reclusive and a bit eccentric. Where I really peg the test is in the area of aspie strengths, and nobody associates those with a "disability."

Well, enough digression -- I'm sure that you're part NT and part aspie, feel free to identify as whatever you like, but don't deny either part, that would be doing yourself a disservice.

I'm a shade of grey. If AS was black and NT was white, I'd be a light shade of grey. I've had friends teach me the social game so I'm possibly lower on the Spectrum, but I still am Aspie and I love it. I think when I tell people they don't say "Oh yeah that totally describes you" they just listen, which to me means "Hmm, I guess he does have it, but then some bits about him are perfectly fine"

I agree with solid. I've managed to mold myself into someone who can live properly out in public and the real world, but as soon as I am at home or in private I re-form back into my Aspie self.

It's like Superheroes, you can't show your true self in front of everybody, and you only disclose it to those you trust most!
