I love nebulas and complex patterns and line art... Escher has been a huge inspiration to me

Wonderful pictures!

When I got my first computer as a teenager 30 years ago the first thing I did was to write software that visualises fractals. I take lots of pictures of fractal structures found in plants or in the patterns created on beaches by the tidal flows of water.

All the other pictures in this thread are fantastic as well. olympiadis, I love your plant and spider web pictures!

Do neurotypicals also spend that much time looking for such pictures in nature and art?

Anything that contains recursive visual patterns speaks directly to my brain, much more powerful than words can ever be.

Yes.

My theory is that the autistic mind is wired to want to learn about and care about all aspects of the world, whereas the typical mind is wired to learn about and care about human social behaviour, regardless of what human behaviour does to the rest of the world and to humans who don't conform to the social expectations of the majority.

Wow, these are some cool images 8O

I don't have any images I've found recently but I did really like this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBawjkuGwk8

From 1 minute in onward it's really neat and gets better as time goes on

It's a violet laser spirograph pointed at glow-in-the-dark panels with variable speeds and makes some really nice effects. From 0 to 1 minute it explains how he made it.

I find stuff like this fascinating too, especially visuals of magnetic fields and other things that are normally invisible.
