Celebrity gossip never really caught my interest honestly.

The people who interest me aren't gossiped about much.

I only know this because it was on the news... the news!?
How do they constitute news???

Who is Tom Cruise?

He was in Mission Impossible, if that helps. I don't know what else though
I always felt like I was suposed to be interested in things like this because everyone else my age was, I just always found it boring. The only time I've ever read anything like this is when I was obsessed with Manchester United as a kid and David Beckham was in the newspapers all the time. I had to collect every single thing he was in 8O My room was like a shrine to him. I still like football but I'm not obsessed to that extent any more thankfully

Celebrity gossip seems like a complete waste of time and energy to me. I don't understand why people get so wrapped up in it or care so much about these people. And it gets really annoying when the media just won't drop blabbering about someone like Pamela Anderson dieing and all the drama around that.

I suppose I could follow it if I set my mind to it but I think watching paint dry might be more interesting and productive.

SAME HERE!

For some reason, I can tell you how a number have become successes, and the types of things they have been in, but that is about it. Then again, I could ALSO do the same with the founders of things like Yahoo, MS, berkshire hathaway, apple, etc...

BTW I HAVE watched paint dry before to get things done FAST. You're RIGHT! It's more productive!

I am not "incapable" of it, I am just not interested in it. I see no point in it, really.

I don't understand why people even want to know what 'celebrities' are doing. I'm not even interested in who people I know are in a relationship with, never mind people I've never met who are well known for doing something which is usually not at all impressive.

Oh holy Ned, celebrity gossip. I would rather be held in Club Gitmo!

Heh....I find it highly amusing when people try to describe movies to me on the basis of what actors are in it.
I very, very rarely have any idea who they're talking about.

The only recent celebrity facts I've been forced to ingest are that Britney Spears shaved her head (woopee), some stripper died and that girl from "Pirates of the Caribbean" is down to an anorexic 97 pounds.

Oh, and someone threw lipstick at Paris Hilton while she was here in Austria. Like that.

Really, I'd prefer to keep up on Neil Gaiman, Gene Wolfe and Stephen Hawking. People who actually DID something to earn fame.

When I worked at Blockbuster, nobody gave a flying f**k what the movie was about, they rented it because of the cover and the lead actor/actress.

for me... it depends on the actors... some i like, others i don't.

but i understand the jist of the thread, as i have serious trouble following politics: remembering names/stances on issues/shadey or good things they've done.

and they all wear the same outfits... dark suit and a blue or red tie...

i've tried and tried to keep up... but just never seem able to.

The only celebrity gossip I hear is what's on the news. Which infuriates me, there are more important things to discuss than Britney Spears hair

If I really wanted to, I probably could, but I just don't want to. I have more important things to do.

I find absolutely no interest in this. I once, when young, had a vague interest in the lives of others, but I cannot bear all the hype surrounding various celebrities these days. I am sure there are people out there with far more worthy achievements.

Ooh, but scientology! Scientology's pretty funny. I admit to occasionally perking an ear when some crazy cultist goes flying off the handle about something.

I don't know them personally, so no interest really. I don't see why it is interesting.
