Very much yes. When I had to move into a friends house, her front room had like 10 ticking clocks in it, because her sister liked it for some reason. I removed the batteries any time they were out of town
But the worst is dogs barking, by far, followed by music, followed by pens clicking, any kind of chewing, and really any kind of conversation unless it's technical and interesting, because I can't not listen to it.
But oddly enough, I love jet noise. Which is great, because I work next to a very active runway with fighter jets, and I love military planes the most("The sound of Freedom" )
Jet noise is very smooth, because it's just a turbine and compressor blades spinning, mostly. Plus, I think turbines and turbojet engines are just awesome, in every way.
Now, poorly silenced reciprocating motors and compressors I hate, though.
