I told my daughter (age 12, 7th grade) that any time she wants to homeschool just say the word and I've got her back on this. Just knowing the option is there gives her control and helps us both, to know that if something is too much we have a quick and thought-out alternative ready to go.

She wouldn't even have her one and only friend that she has right now (who is here sleeping over tonight in fact!) if she hadn't gone to middle school - the girls were at two different elementary schools until middle school.

Maybe those things are things you can keep in mind as a parent while making your decision together. :)

You could homeschool for middle school, then not for high school.
Humans are at their worst in middle school age, I think.
They become more mature and less mean in high school.
Although school is still a drag, it is like a jail for kids, so homeschool through high school might be good too.
