Hearing, especially at high frequencies.

Hearing, except my lovely Auditory Processing Disorder makes it so I don't get the benefits of it, e.g. being able to hear people whisper about me. Oh no, I only get the hypersensitive eardrums and total inability to withstand loud noises. I hear that universities have lots of fire drills...yeah, that's going to be fun.

Sight: Nothing special. I wear glasses.

Smell: Probably my second-strongest sense. Just today I smelled something awful in the car and had to plug my nose, but my mom said she couldn't smell anything.

Taste: Hard to know if my sense of taste is stronger than average. I can definitely tell you that I like very few foods.

Touch: I hate some textures, such as down and markers like Sharpies, but love some others, such as the silky part of the blankets I've had since I was a baby.

Mine is hearing.

I've always thought my sense of smell is bad, however sometimes it's exceptionally sharp. And when I was pregnant it went off the charts. I could smell the air freshener from cars driving past me.

Definitely touch. Temperatures, textures, and touching all have to have the right conditions for me to be comfortable, but they rarely are.

My hearing is probably the most sensitive after that. My friends listen to music at volumes that hurt my ears and I have to wear earplugs in loud restaurants to avoid anxiety. I seem to recall participating in fire drills in high school, and looking around me to find that I was the only one who had to cover their ears as we navigated to the front of the school. lol. Never understood why everyone else could handle the piercing alarm sound just fine.

Come to think of it, touch is also a pretty strong sense - the famous clothes tags of course, however this seems to amplify during sensory overload (which is usually a mix of visual and audial overload for me). Just now at the lunch table I was overloaded from my loud kids running everywhere combined with me being under the weather, and when I grabbed a piece of bread it felt unnaturally rough to my fingers.

I can't use certain types of tooth paste because they hurt my mouth. I can't use regular nasal spray because I'll be rolling on the floor in pain (at least figuratively), so I use salt water spray or at most children's spray.

Hearing is my strongest sense. I can even feel the apparatus in my ears move as a result of any sound...which is annoying. I can also hear things which 'aren't there' which is bloody annoying, but I pacify myself by calling it 'clairaudience'.

The second is touch and whatever that thing is inside that senses sudden changes in air pressure and makes me feel nauseous...like a human barometer...I guess that would be 'ears' again...

For me it is definitely hearing. When I walk my dog every day the sound of cars driving past makes me all tense. Also crowds of people, there are too many conversations taking place at once. The more I hear the more my head wants to explode!

Hearing is my strongest sense, and like others above me in the thread have said, it causes me real problems. I can't cope with a room with different people having separate conversations - how great for socialising and work - as it all ends up being one loud 'white noise' mush. I also tend to hear every squeak and creak in the house at night unless I use my ear plugs; even with triple glazing I can hear certain noises outside the house too. Drives me bonkers.

My eyesight is awful, I now have glasses for everyday - driving, TV etc. I also have a separate pair for the Pc and another for reading. I have tried vari-focals, but tripped over just about everything I encountered and envisaged falling down the stairs! The bummer is that whilst my focus is awful, it doesn't stop my light sensitivity issues; come on, can't catch a break....

Another 'sense' I have, and I'm not sure where this sits, but I am extremely sensitive to 'the vibes' or 'the energy' in a room. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I can really tell when something has happened by a feeling left behind in the room. I may not know what, but I know something negative has happened even if the people are sat there saying, "Hey, everything is great!". It can be very wearing at times. Sorry that last one is a bit vague, but I seem to have a hyper-empathy issue! :?

Any idea why your sense of smell has increased so (ie are you pregnant or otherwise have elevated estrogen)? Usually allergies result in less of a sense of smell b/c of increased mucus?

I actually have an ear condition so my hearing is somewhat muffled which may work in my favor, although I often speak way to loud to compensate, Yet I do hear some things others do not as well as having tinnitus and being unable to turn off / down background noise until sometimes it becomes very overwhelming.

As for touch, I am very sensitive in some areas and nonsensitive in others. My hands seem to be very insensitive to heat, yet I have been known for screaming in pain for stepping on a cold piece of lettuce that had fallen on the floor.

I have been sitting in front of a computer screen for 25+years and have perfect eyesight.

My sense of smell / taste is an odd one, My GF cannot understand why I hate the smell of avocado yet like guacamole, or hate peanuts and love peanut butter or even hate hazelnuts and love ferrero rocher.

I have something similar, we call it my Aspie Sense, as you describe I can go into a room and they can be super happy and welcoming but I get a feeling something is off (usually later confirmed), it is like I can tell they are acting, Not being able to understand NTs at an early age I really got into micro expressions / body language / NT behavior and it his become just like another sense. Another example might be that someone will be talking to me and I can just tell they are full of it, they scary thing is I am usually right.

Tactile/touch because of sensory hypersensitivity.
