Sometimes I wish the Asperger's term had not been coined.

I find that too. I always feel a little weird when the op refers to aspies or aspergers, as I'm not diagnosed with that. Though I just replace it with autistic or autism and post anyway, even though it feels a tad strange.

That's exactly what I was trying to express. It's just a matter of being exacting and always having that "but I'm not an aspie" in my head. I know the members don't care about me posting wherever.

What's ironic is I get nit picky about myself on this when I don't even know what most members are on the spectrum.

Try to think of it like this - with "autistic", most of us mean "people with an ASD" - none of us mean the original definition where next to nobody would fit the diagnosis. I doubt any members would fit it. Asperger's is now old and has been removed and merged into autism, so I guess they can be used interchangeably, right? Since they're the same disorder now.

I don't know, I'm just trying to think of reasons you can participate because I really like what you have to say. I don't think any of them are meaning to exclude people with other ASDs, they just didn't really think when making the title.

I've always disliked the term asperger's since some people like to change it to 'assburgers' (thanks south park).
