Quote:
"Oh, gentlemen, perhaps I really regard myself as an intelligent man only because throughout my entire life I've never been able to start or finish anything." ~Fyodor Dostoevsky, Notes from Underground

My signature, as it says, is from Fyodor Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground which is one of my favorite books. The first half of the book is the main character just rambling about himself and throwing in a lot of philosophy whilst addressing the readers "Gentlemen". It's a great book, and while I was reading it the very first time, I stopped at this line in the book and I just LOVED it. So, I wrote it down. And now I use it as my signature.

I recommend to give the book a read if you already haven't. Some people hate it, others love it. I am of the latter. :)

"Dance as if nobody's watching"

I hear this a lot being a performer and all but it has a deeper meaning for me. You should always do everything with the intention of doing it the best that YOU can. Meaning most people always do their best with no one around. Make yourself seen! Shine! Show people your best. Who knows, you may suprise even youreself!

Mine is my stock standard signature. I'm gonna stick a daft quote in it when I find one I haven't used on another forum somewhere.

My signature is a reference to Cato the Censor, Roman senator and statesman. He developed a habit of ending his speeches with "Delenda est Carthago," which means "Carthage must be destroyed." I just changed "Carthage" to "ignorance."

I used Latin because it is my second language and because, as someone once said, "When something is said in Latin, it is said for all time."

My first signature is a line from the movie "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" which is said around the part where Dr. Gonzo is boarding the plane out of Las Vegas (the second time) toward the end. This is in my top five movies...

My second signature is a line from the movie "Sin City", another one of my favorite movies.

I bet only one in a thousand get it.

WP has 1871 members as of this moment. I got it. Obviously you get it. I guess we can all go home now.... :-)

My signature is purely trying to describe my personality, my interests, and my beliefs so that people know what I stand on and what I like without asking too many questions. I never really talked on forums like this before, so this is my first signature for a forum on the internet.

I think some people might have a little case of nausia if they saw me dance, or maybe faint if I tried singing like I do sometimes in the shower. Just kidding; I like the quote and I believe that people should act the same in and out of other's presence, even though sometimes I do tend to act differently. I'm hoping for it to change though, because I've heard a saying from my band teacher that says that people perform the way that they practice. I play the trombone, and I love to practice superbly, and not just because I have to, and (in my own personal opinion) it's one of God's gifts that He gave to me, and I like the gift. Anyways, if anyone wants to read my signature, it's on the bottom of my post.

This was inspired by a fellow WP poster (darned if I can't remember who) and I believe it was on a post when we were talking about wearing "Aspie" on our shirts. It wasn't exactly the same to what the poster had mentioned, but dern close.

I don't know if i am being thick, but it seems to me that several people's signatures aren't the same as what they say they are (eg vetivert's, Louisa's)? or have they changed them since posting? or is a "signature" not what i think it is?

i haven't decided on a signature yet, but i found a couple of quotes while randomly browsing Wikipedia yesterday that i think i might put... one is a brilliantly Aspie-ish quote about letter-writing by Howard Phillips Lovecraft that i found on his wiki biography, that absolutely confirms my belief that he was "one of us"...

I love this. Dancing and Singing are in my top five all time favorite things to do…right up there with Laughing.

A lot of you have quotes with so much meaning – I had no idea how “in depth” these quotes really are and it’s nice to know the stories behind them. This is the story behind my signatures;

“He compresses the most words into the smallest idea of any man I know.” Abraham Lincoln said this of one of his political adversaries and this quote reminds me of myself and what I seem to do so I changed it a bit to suit me (it’s all about me  ).

As for the signature quote, “Just remember - if the world didn't suck, we would all fall off.” I don’t know where that came from….it just makes me laugh.

I've changed by signature a few times since coming, but many parts of it are in reference to something Narnia/Middle-earth related.

Quote:
You Can't Get to Middle-earth Through the Wardrobe

This refers to a fan fiction I wrote about Legolas coming out into America and meeting up with a rather clueless girl. This is precisely what happens when I have too much time on my hands during an English/history class.

Quote:
I may be incoherent, but at least I'm competent.

This should be self-explanatory. It seems that many people with AS are plenty competent (able to perform) when left to their own means, but still incoherent to the neuro-typical world. Or that is how I see it.

Quote:
Proud Scribe of Rivendell and writer of Reflections Through the Wardrobe

The website (my personal one) that I am currently working on is called "Scribes of Imladris". Imladris is the home of Elrond and his folk from Tolkien's Middle-earth and is commonly known as Rivendell. I started writing a brief snippet of commentary each day, mostly about Middle-earth or Narnia and how they relate to life in general, which I refer to as "Reflections Though the Wardrobe". Again, another example of me having too much time on my hands during English class...

Lastly is my nickname in full. "Namiko" is Japanese for "little wave", and Iolana is Hawaiian for "to soar like an eagle", taken from Isaiah 40:31. But that's about it. ;)

My new signature is the suicide note written by Dr. Hunter S. Thompson four days before he died...nobody could forge this stuff....

"Roger that, Engaging!"

Ummm, no reason, just like the phrase...

But... you're signature is just 'Vivi'... what does THAT have to do with three Goddesses??? :?
