You did well, I also shutdown in stressful situations. People tell me I get white hot and I look away.

Strong emotions are really difficult and bullies make me furious. The lady was being a bully. All you can do is say, "Yes, you are correct, I will try harder." Keeping your job is the most important thing.

Breaking the rules about security is a problem. Try to keep a log and ask your supervisor to handle it.

Good luck, some people behave badly.

When I get angry, I get an adrenaline rush. It is not a wanted thing! It can come on suddenly even before I am fully consciously aware of my feelings. It causes me to get very hot and breathe faster. I also "freeze."

This happens to me whenever I have strong feelings. Sometimes, when I get very anxious or nervous, the adrenaline is so bad that I feel like I am going to faint. I also get this when I feel embarrassed. Disappointment or thinking a negative/sad thought can bring tears in an instant, so sometimes fighting those off (in anger at myself for being so emotional) can bring on the adrenaline rush.

Yes, you put it into better words. That makes a lot more sense; adrenaline. What you are describing sounds like a panic attack to me, at least at the very highest point.

Disappointment/sad thoughts coupled with tears and (if I'm speaking with someone) choked up speech is what I also experience. This happens even when I'm doing something nice for someone and I feel good about it. It is very hard for me to speak to someone in that state.

Similar things do happen to me when I have a panic attack, also. But it is overall "adrenaline rush" and caused by any kind of intense emotion. Unfortunately, my emotions are just below the surface and *very* strong. It does not take much to bring them about. Most of the time, I have them under control just from a LOT of practice over the years. I feel emotions so darn intensely, and emotional control is one of those subsets of executive function I have particular difficulty with.

I get adrenaline rushes in the middle of performing, so I've had to learn how to combat them. It's been to the point where my hand has shaken badly while I've been playing. I also sometimes turn bright red.

It's almost like the adrenaline is a drug that is taking over your body, and you have to learn how to function under it's influence. Deep breathing helps. It's hard to do in the moment, but extra oxygen is definitely needed.
