I enjoy thunderstorms if I can find shelter, but I don't like it when they cause the internet to go down. I prefer damp, wet, overcast conditions when I am outside. The sun hurts my eyes and all the UV feels oppressive. Wet conditions bring out the color in scenery. Fog gives you cover and a sense of mystery. A light mist or even a light rain can be enjoyable to walk in if the wind is calm.

I have had that same recurring dream most my life, although not as frequently as you. In my dream I’m desperately trying to run from the tornado as the vortex winds slow me down. Only on one occasion did I manage to escape and find shelter.

Thunderstorms are exhilarating. I’ve always loved them. The thunder doesn’t bother me at all. It’s loud, but the sound is low-pitched and not continuous.

Calm, grey, overcast days are very comforting, and I love fog too. I hate having to drive in it, but then I hate having to drive, period.

It’s odd that I was noticing just a couple of days ago how peaceful and at home I felt in a park on a cool, overcast misty day that I suppose most people would call ‘dreary’ and wondering if that was an aspie thing.

Well, personally, I like it when clouds cover the sky. Overcast weather is much better then a sunny day to me. No sun to worry about.

However, I don't like thunder. Never had. Lightning is cool, though.

I love storms.

There's something about a storm front moving in that hits me caffeine. It runs in my family.

I don't know if it's the pressure drop or the ionization, but I can always tell when a storm hits, no matter how far I am inside a building.

Me too. I love those grey, overcast rainy days too...and I've always loved the fog which I get alot of since I'm near a river. :D

Anyone notice that they can think clearer, function better, or just seem to have more energy on those days?

I think I do, alot less things bother me it seems.

I love storms! I get all excited when a storm comes, especially if its severe. I really should be a storm chaser...

I like it right before a storm when the wind is howling and you can see the front moving toward where you are. I like seeing rain miles away, a wall of grey and white, all the way to the ground. I like thunder up in the mountains. I also like watching thunderheads in the sun as they go upward and change shape.

I like the sound of thunder and rain. I also like the way the air pressure changes during a storm.

It's a good thing too, since in Florida we get thunderstorms every day in the summer.

I love overcast weather. Sunny days get so boring, and I feel more comfortable when it is a bit cooler out.

Thunderstorms are great. One of my favorite places to observe thunderstorms is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Huge thunderstorms build up absorbing moisture over the sound, and they will contain the most amazing, spectacular lightening shows!

Thunderstorms typically start off with strong winds, which make a soothing sound as it blows through the trees and relieves the heat of the afternoon. As the storm continues to approach, you can hear the thunder rolling in the distance. Soon the rain starts up. It's cool and refreshing. All the birds and other animals go silent, and it's just the roar of the wind and the rain. A lightening bolt breaks the darkness creating shadows like daylight, and shortly after, a sharp clap of thunder follows and breaks through the sound of the rain. The air gets cooler as the storm blows in more refreshing air. As the storm dissapates and moves on, it leaves with the soothing sound of, rolling, rumbling of thunder in the distance, and a clean crisp smell to the air. Sometimes, if you're lucky, the electricity will go out too during a storm shutting off all the noisey air conditioners and other machinery running. The nightime then truly becomes night as your eyes are relieved from the assault of sodium-vapour streetlights. The air is filled only with the sounds of crickets chirping and other night creatures against the background of rainwater dripping off the trees. Everything is calm and still, renewed, refreshed. I go to sleep with the window open in my bedroom as the gentle breese blows over me, and the crickets seranadeing me!

I don't like anything about storms clouds or rains.
I usually stay inside much more in the cold/wet seasons.
While atm since the sun is shining so much i go outside 100 times as much.
I just can't seem to find anything positive about storms :?

I like storms and I find them relaxing until there is thunder and lightning. I can't tolerate that. Nice rain though is good to read by.

are you like me? does the idea of complete coverage of the sky make you comfortable? do you like it when it rains? the sounds of rain and thunder drown out other noises and cause NTs to go hiding in thier homes, leaving you able to relax - no lawn mowers, no chainsaws, no people just sitting outside listening to the radio or making other noises that you wish you didn't have to deal with. is thunder something sootheing or something disruptive?

i like everything that storm clouds represent. they make me feel cozy and seem to pacify everyone else around me.

I agree completely with everything you've said.

I love storms because everything goes much darker, and heavy rain makes me happy, and seeing the lightning reminds me of all the hard things i had too overcome in my lifetime.

I love clouds. They can keep my attention for ages, especially when I'm at work and surrounded by boring stuff...
