I live in an area where ASD resources for adults are minimal. I have been in therapy off an on for most of my life. I don't really get support for the neurological stuff, only the stuff most therapists are trained to treat--depression, anxiety, trauma. My current therapist is the only one who is familiar with ASD. He is helpful. He is the one who diagnosed me, but practical help for executive dysfunction, in-depth help with social stuff--psychotherapy isn't designed for that. I wish I had a case manager to help me but I am too high-functioning. Case managers are more hands-on, helping you learn coping skills for everyday life situations. At least that is my experience. Things might be different in other parts of the world.
