Depends on the company. If I am with people I can actually talk to about something, it is okay. I hate when people go on and on about nothing. I was at one party where I enjoyed the company of the hosts' cats and dogs more than I enjoyed the company of most of the people.

Like chewing on a candy coated electric fence. It's nice but sooner or later you're gonna get zapped. (Your voltage may vary , for me it's about 12v car battery.)

...being forced to be in some crappy TV show in a foreign language, where everyone is playing a role, and they know their role, but you don't know yours, and you forget your lines and so you stand back and watch the events unfold in strange ritualistic ways that you're not quite sure of how they came into being, and when the actors see that you don't know what the hell you're doing, they ignore you and continue with their odd and mindless chatter.
And then you go home.
