Theres two styles.

One is to give a warning to make a panic.. those people get a kick out of making others panic and never actually do anything.

The other is a person whos already killed people will give a warning to make it more "entertaining" 99% of the time the first time a person kills they dont give warning even if it is premeditated.

As others have stated its just some kid trying to get his prank mentioned in the news.

if something like this happens to anybody anwhere you have to know how and when to FIGHT BACK!
even if maybe they kill you , they wont be able to kill your friends...

it sounds scary, but if you don't try to fight back, then they can kill you and your friends.

a bullet is something that you can't run from... the only way to protect yourself from it is to stop it from being fired in the first place.

and a threat is a threat, it might put fear in your heart, but often that is all they are meant to do anyways.

if someone really wanted to do this kind of thing, then it's likely that they won't make any threats...
if someone wants to kill people, threatening them isn't going to help in any way.

they say in a situation like that, dont try to be a hero. but i guess if hes already shooting, why not? bust out some of that jiu jitsu

but i cant i just cant because i go to the middle school.

in this situation you need heroes, what you are talking about is more like a robbery situation where the person doesnt want to kill people, but will if he feels that he has to...

if all a person wants to do is kill, then the only way to stop it is to fight back, you dont need to know jiu jitsu, lets say 2,3,4,5 or more people jump on the guy.. he wont be able to go around killing what dozens of people that he felt ...

i take karate class. they tell us to only use it when their is no choice run whenever you can especially if they have a gun

Seriously. My husband pointed this out. Cho was telling people to line up so he could shoot them. F*ck that. If you line up, you're dead. If an entire classroom of people is told to line up - I figure 20-30 ppl - and all 20-30 ppl decided to kick the gunman's a**, I suspect that fewer people than 20-30 will die. I believe that is a reasonable conclusion, and therefore favor a**kicking as better than complying with shooter instructions.

is this karate class for self defense or sport? self defense is entirely different from the sport. where i take MMA, right before the jiu jitsu class, theres a womens self defense course. if u get to jiu jitsu early, the instructor likes to use u to demonstrate on...... i stopped getting there early.
the sport is a game, its fun, ur not trying to hurt anyone. self defense is like "some1s attacking me w/ no rules. what can i do?"

i didnt know he did this. i thought he walked around the halls shooting ppl who stepped out like targets.

Do everyone a favor and RELAX! I know you may be afraid, etc... Frankly, you are doing EXACTLY what those idiots want. It was probably a prank, and may have been done just to scare the girls, or see how far they would go. In any event, YOU can't do anything, so why worry?

Squier - It is your principal's job to assume all threats are valid. However, it is highly unlikely that this is the case. This is going on all over the country. As I write this, Northern California has 36 schools under lockdown because some meth addict said he'd make Virginia Tech look like a walk in the park, or something to that effect. Yesterday, Provo Highschool in Utah was evacuated because of some similar threat. Today, some guy got arrested at a bank in downtown SLC because he threatened the teller and made references to imitating Virginia Tech and Trolley Square (mind you, this bank was 2 blocks away from Trolley Square...).

It's the ides of April - it seems that everyone goes loony between Tax day (4/15) and Hitler's birthday (4/20) - just look at all that's going on. Monday was Virginia Tech. Then there were the anniversaries of Columbine and Oklahoma City. So this is the time to be making threats if you're a nutter pining for attention. The fact that some nutter actually went through with a plan adds to the existing climate of anxiety that the country feels during the time of these anniversaries.

As scary as this is, I think you should be more afraid of getting hit by a car while walking to school than of a nut shooting up your school.
