Yes. I usually bin them if I feel they're going to cause me any anxiety, such as worrying about hurting someone's feelings or attracting an attack.

I do that sometimes cuz I think after I type it that it's too off topic or that my reply really wouldn't contribute much or help anyone.

Happens all the time. Probably because of my low self-esteem. Writing comments is easier for me though than expressing my thoughts in public. I always think that there won't be enough time for everyone to take in a conversation and, therefore, make this unnecessary sacrifice.

I used to do that often.

Then they fixed the Captcha thing. :D

Sometimes. Usually when for whatever reason I just can not find the right words to make my point.

I'll admit, it happens to me sometimes, can't tell why, i guess i just feel sorta anxious at how it would sound in a conversation and such.

All the time. I will reread my replies over and over, sometimes even aloud before posting.

wow, didn't expect so many replies! It seems it's quite a common thing to do after all. I thought It was a bit of a weird question to ask.

Probably just as often as I actually post.

I often feel what I'm saying is dumb and not insightful. I picture you people, at your computers reading it and thinking I must be a moron.

I also get intimidated by the level of intelligence on here and feel inadequate.

I also know 95% of my social and political views would likely be criticized or be offensive. I offend people alot so I try to err on the side of caution. Seems the line between "personal attack" and "impassioned view" is a very thin line that's very hard to discern.

All the time. I am too self conscious and I have no idea if my reply will be good enough or how people will take it or if I am even understand that I had just read.

So glad to read that it is not just me that does this! I've probably done it several times already this evening - not just here, and not just on sites like this, where we are often sharing quite profound things about ourselves that might be more tricky to write about.

I wouldn't mind so much if I could just quickly jot down each message, but sometimes I've been iterating through every way of expressing the same thing for an hour or more trying to find the perfect set of words.

And then I post it, and realise that after all that work, I still didn't quite say what I meant anyway...

(timed myself - that was quite a "quickie" at about 8 minutes to write and edit!)
