I hate how I look in photos. I'm not photogenic at all.

I almost always have a faraway look or strange head-tilt. Sometimes candid shots are better if I am talking or laughing. Sometimes they are absolutely awful. If I am surprised, and look at the camera at the last minute, it is usually a sideways look that looks like I am angry at the world.

My father in law, with whom I have had a rocky time of it, told me once that I always look mad. I think it is just my resting expression, lol.

What I find baffling is that sometimes I have been told I am beautiful. I wouldn't describe myself as beautiful; when I get this comment, it is always from other people. I fail to see it in photos, that is for sure!!

Either I look like someone with an odd gait and odd look... Which is how I understand why some people mistook me for being younger... Or weird. Also more of an eye sore than anything else.

Or all-serious like that I mistook myself for a businesswoman once, which is less often in pictures.

I rarely have pictures of myself. I simply don't want to at first. Then I have more other reasons why: First because I don't want to post my face in the internet. Ever. And more so because my household is full of social media addicts.

Do not like the way I look in photos. Never have. Dunno why. Nothing outrageous. Just don't like my photos at all.

No matter what I do I always look weird in photos, that's why I very rarely allow people to take photos of me.

Whenever I am in any type of staged photo, I could swear that if you threw an orange shirt on me everyone would assume it was a prison mugshot. My passport photo looks downright scary! Apparently I have a 'dead' look in my eye when I have to hold an expression: no wonder a woman once told me I look like a serial killer once.

I have also noticed that in family or school photos, I seemed to look away even though I am SURE I am looking at the camera. Ironically enough in her family photos my fiancée does it too!
