I take your point. But it would be a shame to throw out the baby with the bathwater. It's just so sad that whoever invited CloudCrap here hasn't explained what's going on or reassured us that the problem is being worked on, as far as i can see. It seems we've been abandoned. Why?

I don't typically advocate for the nuclear option so to speak, but sometimes you need to be dramatic in order to clearly and effectively communicate both your point and how serious you are. Traffic = revenue. No traffic means whatever is causing the loss of traffic (and thus revenue) needs to be corrected and corrected quickly in order to reduce the bleeding.
I'd absolutely be in favour of checking back often to ensure the problem is resolved as well as returning once the problem is resolved. We don't have any input into how things are run though, so all we can do to exert pressure is to either use or not use the site. Ultimately the site is private though, if they don't wish to address the problem, or believe bots are worse than captchas that's their decision. It would be a shame to be forced to move on permanently, but it's not worth the frustration it causes.

"Many of us like to ask ourselves, What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?' The answer is, you're doing it. Right now." —Former U.S. Airman (Air Force) Aaron Bushnell
Hobson's choice, indeed. I'd propose a programme of rolling strikes, but I can't imagine the solidarity would be anything like strong enough - too many people have never been stung by CloudCrap, and like all strikes, those who take part will lose something. And there is no established dialogue between users here and the management. I hope it doesn't turn out that it's a known problem that nobody in control cares about, but of course we'll never know if we don't get an announcement. I hope it's just a case of the problem not having been noticed. There's something faceless going on here. Perhaps some WP deity can grant us a sticky?

If they believe bots are worse than captchas, then frankly they're all sorts of stupid for choosing Cloudflare.
Every forum I've been to that uses DerpFlare gets SWARMED with bots. The stupid captcha system wouldnt know a bot if that bot did a little song and dance number about how much of a bot it is. There's a reason why the site gets DROWNED in hyper-obvious bot posts so very, very frequently.
At this point I'm convinced that Cloudflare is built and run by EXTREMELY drunken monkeys with hammers. That also have brain damage, due to hitting themselves with hammers.
Or maybe it's run by these guys:
Though honestly, I think I'd prefer the Box Network guys from Futurama over whoever actually runs Cloudflare.
It's a very known problem. Complaints and topics about Cloudflare are FREQUENT. I personally get the feeling that the actual admins, who may or may not be a myth, dont care. Or dont exist.
I'd offer my help for free. I'm a versatile developer. I'm 100% certain we can make a website that doesn't annoy users.
Last night I had to give up trying to reply with quote in Chrome, I ended up firing up a version of Mozilla to make the post.
Alex or whoever can PM me. I don't promise a readily available solution, but we can start with a discussion.
I can understand that.
I can also understand that, especially the "don't care" part. Selling crap is a great way for cunning people who lack empathy to get rich.
I think your willingness to work towards a positive solution is a credit to you. I doubt that Alex or whoever will PM you, but you could try sending him a message. My gut tells me you won't even get a reply, but I'd dearly love to be proven wrong.
אלהי אלהי למא שבקתני.
I see the capcha is also completely ineffective against actual robots, yet again.

I've been capcha-free for about a week now, but I've been fooled like that before. I don't think I'm going to stop copying my posts to the clipboard before sending any time soon. The exact conditions that trigger the damned thing are hard to determine, as is the case with many software bugs.

I get what you are going through, I'm cautiously optimistic about being captcha free. But I know that it is biding it's time, waiting to get me at any moment...
