And medicine in the context of others can be terrifying, disgusting, bizarre AND worthwhile.

While I can agree with that completely, I don't see the connection as medicine can also be necessary and a hug is not. I'm just a bit lost......not unusual for me though.....

Are you comparing the impacts of hugging to the impacts of medicines? I'm not quite sure hugs work that way.

My experiences indicate otherwise.

Care to elaborate or are you going to just leave us all guessing?

Love kept me alive & I like to return the favor indiscriminately because the world needs more love. When I see someone in pain I jump & then go about trying to help. I guarantee that same attentiveness to all my friends because it's what I have. The idea of getting rich scares me because I can just as easily share what I've got now, without climbing over anyone. I won't give away my friends so I will give away my knowledge. Better to teach people what I know than to work in a corrupt system another minute.

That's very interesting, but what's that got to do with hugging and medicine?

So, you are saying that if another person does not want to be hugged, you would do it anyway? Just because it made you feel good, you would do it to someone who did not want it?

edit: Typed now instead of not. Changed the meaning of the sentence.

Anyone who randomly hugged me would probably need some kind of medicinal aid, because I would freak out and hit, kick, scratch and bite the crap outta them.

My reaction is not that bad, but it does set off a series of events in me that make me very, very uncomfortable.

Well I should have specified any stranger. Any family member other than mom, dad and cousin, I would probably just start squirming and pushing away.

I have to internalize it because at my age and social expectations is to put up with it. It really, really sets off a lot of thins that can taint the rest of my activities for a while.

I only really hug anyone except circumstances I have to, for example my grandparents and auntie/uncle are pretty affectionate and I don't really feel anything from it as I'm expected to hug them each time they come in and out the door because their like that. I certainly don't chose to hug anyone I know, and don't remember the last time I hugged my parents.

Everything of course. Without my medicinal knowledge I'd be unable to work anyway.

I hug many people all over the place. So do seatbelts.

I essentially never hug anyone other than family members, so perhaps I should say it is intimate to me. But the kind of intimate hugs I crave is the one I can't have.
