I think that different people have different "triggers" and it's important for everyone (ASD and NT) to learn what they are. One of my triggers is having financial problems. I was reading an old magazine article about a woman who fell in love with New York city and wanted to live there. She let her emotions totally guide her without thinking anything through. In the end, she realized that New York is a very expensive city and she ended up having to leave. She also took with her $75,000 in credit card and student loan debt.

When I was done reading that article, I just got so overwhelmed with anxiety about my own financial situation that I just shut down for the day and could not finish what I was supposed to do. I decided to go to an agency like Consumer Credit to help me figure out what to do so I don't run out of money. But I couldn't do it today.
