I procrastinate on things. It always has to do with not feeling in the right mood for the task.

But I'm very organized so I know exactly what I can procrastinate on, and for how long. It doesn't really lead to any problems.

I know of some little tricks to combat procrastination:

1. Getting started is often the hardest part. So I tell myself I'm going to do a task for just 15 minutes or so. I set an alarm, and get to it. By the time the alarm rings, I don't feel like stopping.

2. If possible, chop big tasks up into smaller ones. The smaller subtasks seem less daunting and can be finished faster than the whole, which helps motivate me.

3. If someone else sets the deadline for a (sub)task, I find it easier to stick to it. It's much easier to explain a delay to myself, than to other people. So to avoid the trouble, and letting other people down, I find it's easier to just do the task I don't feel like doing, because the alternative is worse. This is also why I prefer formal classes over self-study, because I don't get to decide the schedule.

I have the same problem. Especially with homework and getting stressed out over it. Always wishing I could turn back the clock at the last minute and upset with myself.

Perseveration definitely makes my procrastinating worse.

To the point of not actually doing the things at all.

I was voted "Biggest Procrastinator" in high school... got my photo in the yearbook and everything. So... yes. I procrastinate not because I'm lazy but because I think about everything that could go wrong and it completely stresses me out.

i usually don't procrastinate as much as i used to. college does that to you, forcibly. i've gotten better at doing things for an extended period of time.

i tend to have good follow through. shown here.

Oh definitely. It's hard to concentrate on something if I just don't care about it. Especially when I was at school. Hated schoolwork and hardly did my homework.

Yes. All the time. Whenever I have work to do, I always leave it a while because I get easily distracted by other things and the time just flies by. Then when I do try to do it, I get stuck and can't get any help, so I leave it again. It's worse when my siblings are off school because I'm worried that I'll start on the work but then keep getting interrupted by them. Eventually I'll go somewhere else and force myself to do it. Like today. I'm taking a break right now while I wait for lunch, but then I'll get back to doing the work until I feel like I've done enough.

The worst part is, it's not just homework, it's work that you do at home. By which I mean it's work that you're expected to do independently, only getting help with it in some lessons when they're not trying to feed you more information for it. That's what college and university work is like, and it's especially difficult for someone like me who has trouble understanding complicated words and phrases without someone to break it down for me.

Only all the time :)

My kids (son is Asperger's, daughter in the process of diagnosis) both procrastinate terribly, too. As a parent I try to motivate them, but since I have no interest in the things they procrastinate on (I'm also in the process of being diagnosed) I find it hard to be very enthusiastic about it, lol.

I tend to let my mind wander a lot and nothing productive gets done.

Oh yes I do procrastinate a lot. Maybe that's why I failed university, besides the crippling sense of loneliness and whatnot.
