I'll go through my apartment, again and again and again, looking in the same places over and over, getting frantic.

I always want to find things quickly, if not I feel very frustrated and I take the thing I was looking for as lost for ever.

sometimes I get the same anxiety when I am trying to dress myself. I can go through the closet and fret and try on and combine and mix and match and toss clean clothes all over the room, dig through the laundry basket for something and then just give up in disgust and wear what I was going with all along. My former husband used to just go into the other room and let me do it, cause he tried to help once and he swore he would never do that to him self again.

wow, I never thought about that being an AS thing, but I guess it is. I just thought I was nuts.

Yes, I do this a lot.
I sometimes sort through my rubbish bin if I've lost a piece of paper with something 'important' on it in case I accidently threw it away

My room is a mess though - so it's my own fault when I lose stuff.

I can't move on and do something else with the knowledge that that thing is missing.

i only get upset if i know where i put something and it is not there. likes sportscards
