My ears look normal but I was (and still am to some extent) very prone to ear infections as a baby. My hearing is also very sensitive to high pitched noises that other people generally don't hear. Other than that I have normal ears.

Both of my ears are very slightly lower than they typically should be, and they were missing a fold at the top, making them stick out. I got picked on so aggressively in high school fo it that I had them operated on in year 9. It didn't bother me so much, but the bullying drove me mad.

After reading other responses, I thought I'd add that I tend to get ear infections quite a bit and I CAN'T STAND the sound of the vacuum cleaner. I will evacuate a room if somebody turns one one, they make me cringe. Does anyone else have this issue?

Vacuum irritate me too but I generally don't evacuate the room I just deal with it as a fact of life... until totally silent vacuum cleaners come around we will just have to suffer :D

Oooooh, now that would be a good invention!

I have been told by a fair few people that my ears are small. I saw a side-on photo of myself recently and my ears looked sort of tilted back, not straight up-and-down like most people's.

Wow. I've got a pointy piece of cartilage at the top of my right ear. I used to call it my "Spock" ear.

In which way did you mean? Furry pointed ears? Or with super powerful hearing abilities?

Poopy- I'm not sure what you mean by the ear bumps thing. Can you find a picture online of one and post it? Could you possibly mean those little cysts in ear cartilage area? I think you also mentioned the slants or wrinkles/folds on the ear lobe. People call them different things. Its long been reported people with those have a higher incidence of congenital heart defects. All I know is I have a earlobe folds and yes jsut last year it was discovered I was born with a bad valve. Well I was told years ago I had a murmur, but never really thought what exactly that meant and never persued that with a dr until I started getting chest pain a few months ago.

My ears look pretty normal but most of the time they don't have earwax because I have an addiction with cleaning them LOL.

But seriously... the only abnormal thing relates to my ears' structure. I have very sensitive hearing, in a way that I become bothered with low, ultrasound noise more than loud noise.

okey doke....

Here is my left ear..the arrow points to the thing I am talking about on me....It feels like extra cartilage or something

this is my right ear that does not have it...

I had masses of ear infections as a kid too....but seriously doubt the little extra bit of cartilage had anything to do with it...

I have an ear thing EXACTLY like that. Same side, too.

They're called preauricular tags:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency ... 003304.htm

They're NOT the same thing as "skin tags", which are usually associated with blood sugar/insulin problems. (I have those too, because I have insulin problems)
