Come on now, everybody should know that there are far more than just six races amongst the human-species, stop rigidly following these labels that are foisted upon you by group-think/herd-mentality. Also... listen to this BLACK man here...
Here is one of the comments made in response to that BLACK man talking...
bows You sir, are a saint!

For the record, one of my previous associates is a black man, and he eventually listened to much of my advice. Currently, his net-worth is high enough to qualify him as having millionaire-status, but my gawd when we originally met he annoyed the s**t out of my with his excessive need to always ask to borrow some money due to being broke all the time instead of exercising some damn financial-discipline.

Unfortunately for us black people we don't get diagnosed in the same way that white folks do. Because of that this lady started up a program called color of autism. Their claim is to get the word out about blacks and other POC people on the spectrum who many still remained diagnosed.

For grins and giggles...
Three ASD boys in my daughter's grade level are black. Another two are from Korea and one from Dubai.
Autism is a diagnosis if your family has means and is educated enough to do battle with the system. If you are poor and uneducated, your kid is f****d unless he/she is so low TPTB have to do something.
Those five boys families parents are all upper middle management, and work for the a multinational company.
So no, race per say is not a block to getting an autism diagnosis. It's money and resources. A poor parent from Flint will not get access to services, or even know where to get them, and how to battle the school, doctors etc to do right by her/his child. The five families above got immediate help from their peers, and people going to bat for them at the start. But all those people have multiple university degrees or advance degrees. When you know people with pull, things get done.
My big b***h with A$ is how they sell autism as an upper middle class, white male issue. I have seen the token screaming white girl toddler thrown into the mix. I guess that is trying. A lot of their videos are majority white little boys, and families who have some money.
All the awareness in the world won't help if the parent can't afford help, or know how to get it at a reduced cost. All the big deal children autism specialists, in my area, are NO INSURANCE only. You pay up front. The ABA folks there are the same deal. I couldn't afford to pay that for my kid, and I'm not ghetto poor. You can submit claims and battle your insurance for money back, but it's still cash up from.
Side note: I call the three boys black, because they are from different South American countries, and do not consider themselves African American at all. My daughter's school had to overhaul the belief that all black looking kids are not African American, and don't appreciate being lumped in with them. That was a fun school year...
The web site the PP listed is great. I'm gonna donate a little bit to them when I get my check.
No one wants to be associated with black/african, that's purely nothing new xD You pretty much covered alot about money and funds and why many actually don't get diagnosed. Of course with that being said the truth of the matter is still the truth, many blacks and/or POCs don't get diagnosed and because of that it leads too many problems. Think of the young black men especially who run into many problems with the police. Many times these cops are mostly uneducated while a portion of them are racist. If a young black man is autistic and may not receive what the cop is trying to tell them then the cop would make deadly force not realizing "hey there's a little something off with this guy".

Now that is worse than the Wrong Planet site, if we are still talking about the lack of diverse race representation in an Autistic home page. It seems to be exclusively geared toward African Americans. What about the African Europeans? Or, what if Wrong Planet actually said it was for whites with autism? The door swings both ways dude.
Well a black American woman started the site, if you have any inquiries take them up with her. The reason why she started it was because she realized that her people were not getting diagnosed so instead of standing by and doing nothing, she started that. Many times people can only do things that have to do with their own because that's what they know about and because "charity starts at home", if she wants to get the word out about others then that's cool too. But the main priority is still her own brothers and sisters of African decent.
Im a black girl. We are here, dude.
It's just that autism is under diagnosed within the black community and is often dismissed as "white people thing". This is partly the reason why there are not many of us here.
This too, obviously you and I have had similar experiences.
It's just that most people of color here don't make allusion to their race.
I am pro-gerbil.

Or did you not actually look at the front page before posting your complaint?
Oops, I forgot :p
Genetic markers determine a persons origin. Again there is no such thing as race. Read the science

Yes, indeed. But, my comment about gerbils wasn't "trollish."

I have read the science. They are just trying to replace the word 'race' with the word 'tribalism'.
It's just another PC related social warrior attempt to rebrand something that has become unpleasant.
Tribalism is BS. If it were true by the the methods they propose, a Chinese person would become something else by virtue of just moving. If they Marry another Asian, they will remain Asian, completely (assuming they do not carry any other interbreeding in their past).
The fact is that there are a lot of genetic markers that are popping up. Three distinct varieties of human...genetically.
You have the African nations (The birthplace of humanity) with the least genetic variance (No Neanderthal or denisovan DNA present).
Then you have two distinct members of the 'other groups'. Those that interbred with Neanderthals. And, those that interbred with the denisovans.
And, it wasn't that long ago, that they said the Neanderthal and Denisovan could not interbreed.
So, yeah, I have read the science. The science actually backs it all up from the point of view I debate, which is science based and not PC based. Genetically. No doubt. We are not talking about the differences between other apes (speciation), which cannot breed with humans and the species homo sapiens, which can interbreed at will.
None of the groups we see as 'races' were separated long enough to become distinct species. But, there are morphological changes. Again, with just a few of the proper bones and they can tell at a glance. It is common. It is not because they belong to a culture. It is because nature changed those groups, as a whole, into what they are now. Eating with chopsticks does not change the facial profiles, eye orbits or even skin tones.
Telling me, and others to 'read the science' is just evasion at it's core because it is not a cogent argument or refutation. It is deflection.
So, I tell you the same thing, but this time, when you read the science, come back with an argument and not a silly deflection. Until then, it's not a debate, it just an argument and I will not get into that.
