I'll NEVER even try to drive a car. My reaction is slow and my eye-hand coordination horrid, and I wouldn't want to risk hurting anyone because of that. I learned to ride a bike and I quite enjoy it, but it took very long.

I "learned" to ride a bike at 5. I refused to ride it after I mastered it. My mom took me to the doctor to make sure that there wasn't anything wrong with my legs. There wasn't, I just was terrified of asphalt becuase it stinks and is always very hot in the summer. She never believed that.

I learned to ride a bike at age 7. I learned due to an emergency. I was with friend who was on a bike and she fell off her bike and needed help. I jumped on he rbike and rode to her house (3 blocks away) to get her mom. She had a broken arm and I realized I could ride a bike. After evaluated it in my mind I realized that my previous problem with riding a bike was that I always watched my feet. Knowing this helped me teachmy AS son to ride a bike cause he did the same thing wrong that I had done.

I got my D.L. at age 24. Not because I couldn't drive but because my family refused to teach me. They were not supportive.

I finally learned to ride a bike when I was 11. I remember the day my parents took off the training wheels when I was 5, yet for 6 more years I could not ride my bike. I would sit on my bike and instead of peddling I would push myself along with my feet, kind of like walking. Eventually I learned how to balance, and learning that has helped me with my balance in other things. I was never terrified, that is another story that I don't have experience with. Maybe try to practice in areas with soft laning as opposed to streets?

I learned to drive just fine, but I prefer to not drive. I have difficulties gauging how far away someone really is, so this makes me more cautious. On the plus side of that, I have only received 1 citation which I can dismiss with drivers safety.

I take the bus a lot of the time. I have a different schedule than most students, so I hardly ever have to ride a crowded bus, which can be difficult but do-able.
