I can remember the date things happened. I am not so exact as to be able to remember what day of the week it happened, but I can remember the day, month, and year of important events.

Yes,I have a really good memory for certain details, but my sense of time is really screwy.I remember things from last week as if a year ago,and years ago as if yesterday. And the perceptions can shift.

Does anybody else feel oblivious to how long ago something happened?

I remember things by the situation that was going on at the time, or there is always something specific linked to it if someone asks me about something (i.e. I remember you said that because you were standing by the table, I can see it in my mind clearly what was going on at the time).

But if someone asks me what day something happened, I can't remember for the life of me. Everything just seems to kind of run together (time wise) sometimes and it gets really confusing, and when I do think I remember when something happened, someone argues it with me and I wind up feeling stupid and caving because I figure they probably remember when it actually happened better than I do, yet I will argue what was said and how it was said all day long because I can actually recall the entire thing happening and all of the details. (of course leading to more argument because "you can't even remember what day it happened, how can you remember what I said?")

Absolutely. I remember a rough estimate of the time line sometimes.. like (well.. this happened when.. I think I was fourteen.. maybe I was eleven. ) but I can picture everything that was around me, exactly what the weather was, what buildings were near by, what was said, ect.

I also seem to be oblivious to time in general, I woke up this morning as was like.. its Friday? Where the hell did Thursday, Wednesday and Tuesday go?

The only problem I have with time is that I can not tell the time often, I will look at a clock and think it is a totally different time. I have no idea why this is?!

Do you mistake the numbers? Slight dyslexia could explain it. I have dyslexic moments.

Picked up a book at the market once, it was just a kids book. It said "This is green cat" I said "This cat is green." my roommate told me it said "This is green cat, not this cat is green." I told her the cat was green so why couldn't they have just said that?

I new someone that was dyslexic, they pronounced ketchup as kepetch. He was cool.

I'll look at a clock and read it okay, but not retain what time it said for more than 5 seconds before having to double or triple check.

lol, interesting that I posted this topic, I completely missed trash day today... didn't realize it til on the way home when I saw all the empty cans laying in the road from the wind blowing them around :(

I've missed entire weeks before just because I don't remember what happened, or will skip over a day easy also.

Completely off-topic, but why do people ask the obvious? I went to McDonald's, and it's POURING down rain-I thought I was gonna drown just trying to order my food because it was coming in through the window so hard. So I get to the window to pay, and the lady says "looks like you got hit by the rain too didn't you?" I didn't respond, she said it like 4 times, and I finally said "yep", because I couldn't tell she was expecting a response. How am I supposed to respond? I'm wiping water off of the inside of my car, of course I got hit by the water... and there are many times I recall people asking me "does it hurt?" after I burned my hand on the inside of the stove or something. What the hell do these people want from us? lol, why in the world would you think that it's a good conversation starter to ask about something completely obvious? ugh, lol. Sorry, had to vent.

lol, something similar did occur to me, I was thinking of asking "no, why? is it raining where you are?"

but I just couldn't get past why she would say it, lol, and got hung up on that instead of the having fun thought.

That's why we're all here...right? So we can learn to mock mindless morons with our endless choice of thought that timidly tick-tocks trapped away in our mindful tome...we need to learn to choose the right one at the right time....

lol, I've learned to get along pretty well-I think a LOT of things that I don't say, and learned when things are appropriate and when they are not (only 'cuz my mom was quick on the draw if I said anything out of line), I still don't know why, but it gets me by as long as I don't talk to them for long, lol. I'm sure she was trying to strike up conversation since I was kind of stuck at her window for a while, but I just couldn't go off of that, lol, I didn't cooperate well.

I hate when people ask me stupid questions like that , really they are stating the obvious , but i do it too , i think i do it when i dont know what to say and there is an uncomfortable silence . One thats annoying me currently is when i go out in the street and people stop me and ask me * is that your dog ?* refering to the dog i am walking wich is on a lead held by my hand , last week when the third person asked me i said * no i stole her from a blind man down the road * and walked off , and i heard the woman tut and say how rude !

lol-I do it with my boyfriend, but rarely strangers anymore-I almost always think it, I just never say it. My bf refers to it as my "dark sense of humor" to respond with things like that because I find it humorous while others get very offended or feel hurt. He doesn't take it too seriously when I do it with him, he's starting to think it's kind of funny too, lol, and he does it right back sometimes with other things.

Yes, do you know where I could file for abuse?

No tolerance for abusive rain.
We must stand united against this.
