I used to try and study and research the reasons as to why anybody could possibly come to seemingly absurd beliefs, but at this point in time, nothing about so-called reality really surprises me now. Everything exists as far as I'm concerned, regardless of how seemingly absurd,
That seems to be the difference between you and I: you accept everything and I accept nothing as fact. All I know is that I know nothing, so I go with the next best thing: what I can observe. My beliefs are always subject to change, but I prefer not knowing to jumping to impossible to test conclusions. Is this the best approach? Maybe not, but it's the reason that we know enough about how the world works to create all the technology we have around us.

and I even include time-travel into that mix (evidence does exist for time slowing down for particles that have been accelerated to light-speed so don't dismiss it outright).
The way I remember it being explained (forgot the specific source but it was either from a science-book or from a now-deceased doctor/scientist with whom I've had past conversations), was that a particle-accelerator would be used, and it was found that the accelerated particles had a longer half-life (they did not decay at the same rate and were still active even after deceleration) than the non-accelerated particles (they decayed at a normal time-frame).
Physics research has not ruled out time travel either.

Various people also seem to be out there who've studied astronomy and remember that Earth was taught to be located on the Orion-Belt in relation to the rest of the Milky Way Galaxy; Now they are finding that Earth is depicted to be located on the Saggitarius-Belt according to the current Astronomy. Anomalies everywhere.
You and I both know that the mass media is not always the best source for information. Just because a few people depict the Sol system in the wrong belt doesn't mean that there is some conspiracy.
