I smile and show facial expressions all the time, does that mean I'm not an aspie? :(
Of course, it might be different for female aspies, I've read that somewhere. Also I think I learned how from the educational kiddie shows I saw as a kid. My problem is trying to fake a happy expression when I'm very unhappy or depressed, and when people tell me to it's just sickening hearing I have to hide my true feelings because they're negative.

Happy happy joy joy  if you're happy and you know it clap your hands open up your  and let the sunshine in because if you frown the devil will get you smile smile ARRRGH!! :wall:

Um, yeah. :?

i've never had a default smile - it's always a conscious action, and while at this late stage of my life it's almost a reflex, i still have to sort of.... plan it out. It's the same way with my laughter, it never sounds the same twice

I can smile alright if I'm actually feeling good, or if I'm relaxed, but I'm terrible at smiling around people I don't know or at work. I always feel like I'm forcing it and I worry that it makes me come off as creepy. Sometimes when I make myself smile at a stranger they end up looking away, and they quickly avert their gaze. Oops!
