There is a pirate in the tile in my bathroom, and on another tile, there is Darth Vaders helmet.

I've just remembered there used to be a cute lion cub I could see on the bathroom tiles when lying in the bath, where I lived previously. If I'd cleaned off the limescale he would have disappeared! :)

yeah i like seeing images embedded in other pics.... beautiful scrulie!

i also tend to have issues seeing what's expected to be seen... here's an example i always use:

someone had a display on their desk... it was a little wooden pannel with a word that said "jesus" but the letters were made in a 3D block form and were very box-like in their shape ie- 90 degree corners... classic block lettering style

but the letters were 3d and projected out from the block they were mounted on... and i'm not sure what it was, but first time i looked at it, i had to stare at it for a few min cause the word "jesus" just didn't pop out at me... i had issues discerning it from the negative space that was created by the letters (like it was the negative space that was emphasized as opposed to the foreground lettering)... i felt so evil when i finally saw it lol

also... i can't see magic eye 3D pics.... and yes... i know how to focus/relax my eyes... i can see other similar type things... but for some resason, the magic eyes never worked for me. i think it's cause of my stigmatism... but am not sure.

Everybody (ok, not the blind) sees patterns in random shapes. Witness the Mother Marys on toasted cheese sandwiches and the "face" on Mars.
Scrulie Wow! Love that picture. Thanks for sharing.

Yes and no, some see them more than others and sadly I have known some people that for some strange reason don't stare at their floors 24/7. It wasn't an amazing discovery as it was a question as to what you'd see where.

I see patterns and images in wrinkles/plaster, even numerical sequences, all the time. As far as the "messages," I had this a lot when I was younger, and I still have it sometimes, but it's an indirect feeling. I'll feel "there is greater meaning in this that I should be seeing," or I'll feel I'm seeing omens. I sometimes think that life is a living metaphor, where everything reflects everything.

Once I had a miscarriage and exactly a year later to the day, a terribly wounded cat appeared in my backyard. I took this as an omen of something... what exactly, I'm not sure, but it seemed to carry weight. That's the sort of "message" I see a lot... it's more in the realm of superstition.

It's this kind of thinking that causes me to wonder if I'm actually schizotypal, as ooposed to AS. :?: Unless a person could be both.

Wow, that's incredibly gorgeous. It looks like something you'd see in a kaleidoscope or something.

:) Thanks! I'm very inspired by experiences I've had on hallucinogenic substances.

When I slept on a top bunk in a room with an artex ceiling (the type where it looks like drips coming down slightly - hurts like hell if you scrape your hand on it) I spent ages seeing things. Then I'd look away, look back and they'd be gone.

Don't do that anymore though. Ceiling is too smooth.

I do that a lot, and I used to do it all the time with my old wallpaper. In particular, I could make out a dragon in part of the pattern of the wallpaper which I loved to stare at, and I was devastated when I had my room redecorated!
