I'm an exterminator, and I've seen plenty of those. They look like hobo spiders. Do you see webs shaped like funnels often? Anyway, they're nothing to worry about.

The second one looks a bit like a brown recluse. If that sounds like an Aspie spider, its not.

Call an exterminator. Brown recluses are nasty.

You dont want to see what their bites can do. *pukes*

some help in identifying the second picture..

Note that imported goods can be a vehicle to your area for non-native spiders.

Be careful, identify, and call an expert.

that second one looks a LOT like a brown recluse-you need to smash that thing asap, lol, just in case. I used to get them a lot in my old place (I had several people who knew a lot about spiders who hung around at the time) and loved the binder approach. I hate using shoes because they are fairly small (not in comparison to the spider of course), and I can miss because my coordination is awful-I've had one jump on me from missing before. Now, I get a big binder, or a notebook or something, and drop it on top, then jump up and down on it until I feel confident I got the little bugger, lol.

Get a hedge apple if you hate spiders, its has chemicals in it that make spiders scared of being even remotely close to it. Heres a pic of one:

They're about the size of a grapefruit and work perfectly, I know because someone gave me one to use. I dont know how to get any of them so you might wanna look up hedge apples.

I think tinky meant the size of the spiders :P

but... on the subject of the hedge apples, I might have to look those up myself-I have a really annoying spider thing going on in my bathtub-they seem to come up through my drain during the night, and every morning when I first wake up and go in there, I'm greeted by one :?

The big one at the bottom looks like a wolf spider. Have no clue what the little one is. Cute little things. Whenever I see a spider in my house I feel sorry for it pick it up and put it back outside.

I have a friend who used to do that, and I used to let her... now she cringes when I smush 'em. We had a mishap with a biggun a good while back where she scooped it up into a cup and flinged her hand back before tossing the little guy-he attached a web to the cup and when she brought her hand back, well, he flew too... and landed right on my neck. Never again... lol.

I always thought wolf spiders had more rounded bottoms than that one does, and were a bit darker. That one's awfully light.

Hobo Spiders are not highly toxic and, in the experience of the guy who climbs into crawlspaces to screw with them, are not particularly aggressive. That site is misleading. Alot of people see them and think Brown Recluse, but those are reclusive and if you see alot of them then it's probably a Hobo Spider.

Their bites hurt alot. But it's not like having Black Widows or Recluses around.

Edit: Hmm, I just wiki'ed Hobo Spider, it looks almost identical to the one you posted. I guess I would call an exterminator if it were me because apparantly their bites can cause problems.

The first spider looks hairless and has large spinnerettes, the bottom looks short haired and has no visible ones. I doubt they are the same species.

Furthermore, the Hobo looks like it has much larger mandibles than the two in the OP pictures, especially the second one. Its also hairier and more marked.

The second one looks like the Nursery Web Spider, Pisaura mirabilis., to me. I haven't done much ecology recently so can't say for sure, but the time of year is about right.
Nicks Spiders of Britain and Europe - Pisaura mirabilis

I haven't got any books with me to help ID the other one. I think it could be Scotophaeus blackwalli. though - I don't believe either are a Brown Recluse or Hobo
