A peak bulling period was between 5th and 9th grade. Mostly verbal, I was called various homophobic slurs and "k*e" a lot. People would purposely trip me up at times. The other peak bullying period was the first 2 years of college, gaslighting type stuff. They took money from me knowing I would report it and get my roommate seemingly falsely accused. For two nights in row somebody gunned thier car at me full speed swerving away at last second. When I reported it they laughed and I was told to stop making crazy stuff up if I wanted to stay in school.
But I escaped bieng physically beaten up, or having my face drowned in a toilet. Most importantly I escaped any type of abuse at home for which I consider myself very fortunate, especially since it was the '60's and '70's.

“My autism is not a superpower. It also isn’t some kind of god-forsaken, endless fountain of suffering inflicted on my family. It’s just part of who I am as a person”. - Sara Luterman
