I have that problem with Listerine. It burns too much to use it. I use Act. As for toothpaste, I currently use sensodyne pronamel. It's minty but doesn't burn. Doesn't stop the gagging though.

Anything that says toothpaste on it is probably bad for you, and harmful if swallowed. I use different stuff alot. Baking soda alot. Peroxide once in a while. A drop of Dr. Bronners baby castile soap (unscented) mostly. Once in a while I use a mix of activated charcoal, diatomacious earth, bentonite clay, and a little trisodium phosphate. I have become fond if a water pick too. I cannot remember toothpaste working as good, and it tastes horrid. Toothpaste makes me feel like I took a chemical bath I cannot wash out. Soap is gone in 2 rinses, and your clean.

I've been using Tom's for years, but the toothpaste is not what bothers me. I can't do manual brushing, the scrubbing motion annoy me. So I invested in a Sonic Care tooth brush, expensive but worth it. I almost find it relaxing, plus multiple modes for different sensations.

It has the tendency to foam up the toothpaste, so it could possibly help with the burning.

Someone mentioned Dr Bronner's, but I just noticed they now make toothpaste, but I don't know if it's like Tom's or anything like that. I do love their Castile soaps, with the peppermint one a favorite for the summer. Other times of the year, I use the unscented, lavender, or eucalyptus ones.

As far as toothpaste goes, I've never had any issues, so I just use Colgate.
