I do that with emails. I compose them in a word processor and paste into the emails. I can agonize over one message for days. Fortunately I only have two friends that I email with any regularity so it doesn't end up taking such a big chunk of my life.

Yeah, I can definitely relate. I have lots of professional and academic communications to do on a regular basis and they can take a while to write sometimes. Luckily, many of these emails are not really conducive to anything but brief and to-the-point messages.
