I'm 18 years old but I look like 12

I had mixed reactions about my age when I was a teenager. At 15, when I'd get the bus home from a Saturday afternoon in town, the bus driver would quite often question my age and try to charge me full fare because they thought I was a bit older. I wore make up, but always favoured the natural look.

As I got older, up until my late 20's, people always thought I was 16 or 17. Maybe my body language and general demeanour contributed to that too, that and not having an expressive face. I don't have a baby face either, I have rather sharp features and a 'peaches and cream' skin tone.

Some relatives from abroad visited recently, and my cousin's wife who didn't know my age thought I was 14 years younger! She thought my mother was many years younger than her age as well so maybe genetics have something to do with it too.

A mental health assessor I saw three years ago couldn't believe my age either, but I'm beginning to think that the older someone is, the more likely they are to think I look young because different age brackets perceive things differently.

As much as I'd love to be able to knock 15 years off my age, realistically, I don't think I could. Maybe I do look years younger, perhaps I look my age, or it could be that most of my peers look older than me because they've experienced a full life and I haven't.

I'm beginning to look like I'm 55, unfortunately

I'm always told I don't look 53 although I have noticed I'm starting to get a few grey hairs here and there.
I don't think like a woman my age either.

I'm 21, but people usually mistook me for 16 or even 12 years old.

Body language deceiving is so deceiving, people mistook me for being irresponsible, and immature whenever I'm happy and a little less restrained.
But when I 'start acting my own age' (AKA restrained and pissed/sad?) people end up being scared and they thought I'm someone bossy, revered, and serious all the time.

People often think I look younger then I am. Body language, facial expressions, childish personality.... that is when, my face is not covered in saws from self harm.
