Now...I didn't say to call the police, I merely advocated threatening to LOL.

Just tell her not to hit you again. This is not the 1950s.

She'd probably just deny she hit me or claim it was "just a joke" if I brought it up again.

if this person is hired to tutor on a subject and does not listen to you if you tell her to stick to the subject at hand, then yes, I would fire her. Basically, she was hired for a specific job.

If someone hits you or brings her personal life to work, she's not a good teacher. She should stick to the subject and to learning organizational skills necessary for success in that subject.

Wacom gear is the kind of thing you KEEP AROUND. As a s/w dev I'd think math tutors should probably know that by now. This Thinkpad tablet of mine is like a phantom limb. Just explain that transceiver pens can do more than pencils & chalk.

If you're worried about her overall health it could be really positive for you two if you elected to focus on math that interests you both rather than just busywork.

I have more than one Wacom. The one she wanted me to get rid od doesn't work anymore. It's over a decade old. And plus it cost me several hundred dollars at the time. I had to save for a LONG time in order to get it.

She's supposed to be teaching me the math part of the GED so I can pass. But lately she's just wanted to lecture me about how I'm not "organized" (Or what SHE deems organized) and tell me how I should use my watercolors. She seems to think I can get organised just by being told I need too, she's never given me any ideas of what I'm supposed to do.

You should probably switch to meeting her over coffee in order to keep her pet peeves off the table, I've tutored a bit and going to people's houses/apts. wasn't preferable. Table space does help a lot but it's not exactly hard to come by. As for the tablet, those are conversation pieces, I don't get rid of interesting hardware either. If I could use a Palm on the daily in place of my Android phone I'd do so.

I used to meet her at the library but I found it easier to learn in the comfort of my own apartment. If it bothers her that much, I wish she would say so and I wouldn't mind meeting her at the libary again.

Hey, Kid. I would first try to see if I could educate her about why you do what you do. Some people are open to it. If she is not, that might be enough to tell you what you should do. She may not be stupid or judgmental, she may be misinformed. Who better than you to inform her??

Already tried. She either cuts me off or starts arguing when I try to get my point across.

Well inflexibility is pretty much anathema to productive tutoring, on anyone's part. When I tutored I focused on conveying the whole theory of entire classes in one hour because the majority of my clients would dissapear after one session.

If I tutored in that manner I'd wholly expect to be fired.

I had to fire her after all. She called me stupid because I didn't want to go along with her plan and she insulted my religion.

she's not there to help you with that part of your life. she knows why she's there and she needs to do her job. i'll let her go and tell her she wasn't doing what you wanted her to.

i think an unorganized people will be more successful person then the one who are organized. because unorganized people spend more thing that matter then doing some useless thing, so we have more time to think something better.

She also told me the university/college I want to go to wouldn't accept the home-school program I was doing. Guess what? I contacted them and they said they WOULD. She wanted me to go to this 22+ program for adults but I think I possibly might have a panic attack in that kind of setting or "zone out" and "leave my body" and not be able to learn anything. I also have PTSD from my experiences in public school and can't even watch TV shows or read books that take place in a school setting. People ask me how I think I can do a college experience then. First of all it's college, not a school setting and hopefully by then, I'd get help to be able to gradually expose myself. I don't want to risk traumatizing myself allover again which is what this 22+ program possibly could do to me if I dived in head first like the tutor wanted me to do.
