I love how taken I am with my special interests and even plain interests. They always give me something to do or think or daydream about. Left to do what I want, I never experience boredom.
There are so many actually interesting things to watch, read and think explore in my mind, I can't imagine wasting time on doing boring/uninteresting things just to bond with/ spend time with friends as most people do. It sounds like a complete waste to me. My interests come first and unlike some people here, I appreciate my special interests being so important to me.

I like that I am naturally very asocial, which kinda ties in with the first.

Another thing I really like is being able to hyperfocus.

A third thing I like about my personality is that no one can ever talk me into doing anything I truly don't want to. Peer pressure doesn't work on me if I am truly against whatever it is.
Somewhat related, anyone trying to push me into doing something, will find that I am more stubborn than them. I hate pushiness and I love that my personality doesn't allow people to push me around. (Please note, this does not mean not doing what a boss or cop tells me to, or generally being disobedient to parents and teachers when I was a kid.)

There are multiple autism traits that I have that I'm pleased about. I don't see them a seperate but integrated in me. One that is not mentioned yet (quick scan), is my ability to spend long times alone.

As a musical term for sure, "the '80s" imply the late '70s and early '90s. You can think of them as tapers of this golden decade.

I like my ability to soak up and store information about a subject I'm interested in.

I also like my ability to easily visualise things, it's useful.

Does overwhelmingly high empathy count?
Well, having too much empathy causes me problems too.

I haven't got any positive traits. :(

Huge attention to detail is the best thing ever when you're really into photography and graphic design.

I am passionate about my interests and can research everything about them.

Since my ability to function has improved dramatically in the past five years, I am not so sad about my differences.

Don't know if it is an autistic trait, but because my mind is a crazy maze...I am never ever bored. I could play around in there for hours, much to the chagrin of those around me.

Oh and certainly seeing patterns and connection that others seem to miss.

I personally just like the idea of having a different nervous system to other people, I feel unique because of it I guess? I've gotten my tics under control, I'm working on my ADD, and I don't have any comorbid intelligence issues or anything like that, so as far as I'm concerned I'm merely wired differently to others. This is a good thing in my eyes.

If you opened up a thread on the downsides of having this, the list could go on forever.

I would've been very interested, especially for an 8 year old.

As for what trait I'm pleased about, I like how I can read sheet music quickly. It's not as practical, but it makes piano practicing easier.

I agree with eet on the language thing. It's either that or much of Spanish's vocabulary is exactly like English.

My interests

They're like healthy addictions. I only grow and expand myself as a person, and my fascination with these topics gives me a way to communicate with people or tell people about things that are mind blowing.

The unfortunate part is I get a lot of "shut ups" and "you're an idiot" because people say I make them feel stupid(?). I've never understood this mentality, so I just keep going.
